He wasn’t a politician when he accepted these payments/payments in kind, but he did actually own the majority of the shares in Reform (which was a private company over which he had significant control) and was honorary president of it. I’m not quite sure how actually owning a political party of which you are the honorary president doesn’t qualify as making you a politician. He is totally corrupt and does not stand for anyone but himself and his billionaire backers. [Post edited 5 Jul 11:15]

I hope he lives out his life scrutinised and investigated for every possible penny and ill gotten gain. He’s a massive threat to our country and cheered on by idiots. The harm he’s done in every sense this last 20 years or more should make him hated.

He was less than 12 months later, and that is all that matters. All elements have to be declared within that timeframe. He and Reform appear to be trying to use the “personal gift” loophole.

Think you’re right on all points. Have heard plenty of times from people that know more about this than me that he never had any intention of PM or putting himself forward at the next GE. I suspect that being party leader though has been great in terms of raising profile and attracting other commercial revenues for him. So he’s got what he wanted. Can now bow out claiming establishment stitch up and follow Liz Truss over to the US. Good riddance - I wouldn’t cross the road to pss on either of them if they were on fire. All a misunderstanding of course I’m sure. All 18 of them A full timeline of Nigel Farage’s grift and corruption 1. 2001–2014: Rent-free office scandal Farage used office space rent-free, failed to declare the benefit properly, and was fined by the Electoral Commission. 2. 2015–2016: Whilst serving as an MEP, Farage’s EFDD group spent around €1.8 million of EU taxpayer funds improperly on his “Say No to EU” Brexit campaign activity, including paying for rallies in the UK, venue hire, banners etc 3. 2016–2019: Farage’s Brexit movement was heavily funded by Arron Banks. Questions over the source of funding were referred by the Electoral Commission to the National Crime Agency. 4. 2017–2018: The European Parliament docked Farage’s MEP salary to recover around €40,000 after concluding parliamentary funds had been improperly claimed for staff costs. 5. 2018: A European political party closely linked to UKIP and Farage’s parliamentary group was ordered to repay €1.1 million after investigators found EU grants had been improperly used for national political campaigning, including campaigns in the UK directly supporting UKIP. 6. 2019: Channel 4 News and The Guardian reported that Banks gave Farage benefits worth around £450,000, including accommodation, transport and overseas travel. 7. 2019: The Electoral Commission warned the Brexit Party’s online donation system was at “high and ongoing risk” of accepting impermissible donations and required stronger controls. 8. 2019: Crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne donated around £6.4 million to the Brexit Party, beginning a financial relationship that continues today. 9. 2021 onwards: Farage earns £400,000 a year from GB News whilst serving as the leader of a UK political party. 10. 2023: Farage received around £1.5 million for appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here. 11. 2023: Reform UK received £200,000 from First Corporate Consultants Ltd, linked to businessman Terence Mordaunt who lobbies against Climate Change policy and campaigned for Brexit. 12. 2024: The Good Law Project alleged Farage failed to declare assistance from a US public relations firm during a US trip funded by Christopher Harborne. 13. 2024–2026: Farage received a £5 million gift from Christopher Harborne around 1 month before entering Parliament. In 2026, Parliament’s standards watchdog opened an investigation into whether it should have been declared. 14. 2024–2026: Since becoming MP for Clacton, Farage has declared more than £2 million in outside earnings from media, speaking engagements, commercial partnerships, including activity closely linked to lobbying for policies that benefit his private funders. 15. 2025: A complaint alleged undeclared election spending during Farage’s 2024 campaign. Essex Police took no action because the statutory time limit had expired. 16. 2025–2026: Farage failed to declare 17 separate payments, worth around £380,000, within the required parliamentary deadlines. The Standards Commissioner found the breaches were inadvertent. 17. 2026: Farage declared £270,000 from Direct Bullion for promotional work while sitting in Parliament, equivalent to around £22,500 per hour. 18. 2026: The Sunday Times alleged convicted former aide George Cottrell provided undeclared support including security, accommodation, staffing and media assistance. A true public servant and man of the people. [Post edited 5 Jul 11:19]

He’ll struggle to recover from this. He’s already had to go to ground over the £5M donation from his Thai-based crypto buddy. And that he said was for security, while it now turns out Posh George has been paying for his security. (Maybe they both have, but things seem fishy). Times article here without a paywall. Leaving aside the fact that I think politics should be decided on issues rather than personal attacks, these are some of the top-rated comments on Mailonline. "Yawn....... No one cares - except Nigel's political opponents - and the MSM - who are determined to bring him down at all costs" "How did Starmer, Rayner and Brnhams wife amass their wealth is of far more significance to the tax payer." "Gift is a gift but Farage is not in power so nothing wrong." [Post edited 5 Jul 20:20]

I imagine they are mainly genuine especially given the fact that Reform consistently leads the polls. The Mail is supportive of Reform - its campaign in Makerfield tried to prevent people voting for Restore and so splitting the vote - and this is probably also true of much of its readership. And whilst people may not buy the paper in the numbers they once did, many others now get their news via Mailonline or via social media. And if you ever speak to someone who reads the Mail, they trot out unquestionly the anti-Labour lines etc that the paper pumps out. [Post edited 6 Jul 8:37]

Even without that, they were donations in the 12 months before becoming an MP and disclosable. The idea that paying the salary of a man to do his social media, which is overtly political and part of the campaign, could be purely personal is clearly nonsensical.

There have been a couple of "boomerang" former Tory councillors who have re-defected back to Conservatives from their original defection to Reform Rumours abound that Danny Kruger MP, scion of Saint Prue of Leith, will be a high profile re-defection sometime soon Quite honestly, how anyone with one iota of common sense or political nous look at the sh1tshow that Farage heads and thinks...."Yeah, that's a fine party, I want to be a part of that" is a mystery. They need to be debarred from ever holding any public office, on account of their complete lack of critical thinking Hopefully the wheels are falling off the Farage gravy train and he will disappear into well deserved obscurity [Post edited 6 Jul 9:47]

Will he though? We know concretely from a poster on this website as well as the general themes of the last few years that they don't care at all about the evidence and disbelieve anything which is anti-Reform or that goes against their views without even reading it. No way he should be able to survive any of this but we will see. SB

I think the point is that, while there are some intellectually challenged people like dear Benters, who are too far gone, at the margin this is likely to have an effect. They are already on a down trend in the polls. Coincides too with Kemi having a bit of an upturn and Lowe's rabble taking some of their vote as well. To my earlier point though, if you believe, as I do, he has no intention of running for PM, this is the perfect chance for him to leave of his own accord - especially if there's a Clacton recall. I think he's done either way. [Post edited 6 Jul 9:49]
