Ha!

Not a prophet, or a stone-age man; just a mortal with potential of a superman.

He'll just have to carry on another four years, then.

He's walking like I do after 6 aside. Not fit enough for this. SHouldnt be forcing himself on a team which would do better without him.

Shades of Jonathan Douglas about him for the Spanish goal.

I'm not quite sure what Martinez was planning.

Start Ronaldo and then do nothing for 90 minutes that actually suits the way he plays.

Tapped it around in the middle all night then when it did go out wide it mostly came back. Just 13 crosses into the box all night and about 10 of those were in added time.

Ronaldo is one of the greatest players to have ever played the game - but today he was an embarrassment. Should retire from international football with some sort of dignity left.

Chris Sutton isn't one I agree with every day, but he's spot on about Martin's being weak on Ronaldo

Worst of the last 16 games so far and arguably CR7 the worst player on display in it. Wouldn’t be happy if I were a Portugal fan. But I’m not, thankfully

Was the same in euro 24, he was a hinderance rather than an asset to the team.

Has been a great player but those days left him sometime ago. He walked around the pitch constantly complaining to team mates that they haven’t given him a tap in.

The manager has to take a large part of the blame not prepared to take him off when he added nothing to the teams performance. Surprising how many Portugal fans were wearing his shirt because his inclusion in the team damaged any chances they had of progressing further.

It's a bit sad to see this footballing great, be as useless as he is.

I'm not sure who decides if he plays, but surely there has to be an agreement he starts but comes off after 60-65 mins, or he starts on the bench and comes on. I would have gone for the latter.
Deep down he must know he's not good enough for the whole game. I can only assume no-one rates that Ramos guy.

I only saw the second half last but he's just not very good at running and closing down anymore and he hinders their team. I cant remember anything of note that he did.

Probably the only time I have ever agreed with Sutton. He said the reason Portugal failed was because of Ronaldo as they have no striker and that he walked around like an old man.
If you watch Kane,Messi etc they all contribute in other aspects of the game. Ronaldo just wandered around, barely jogging back after a Portuguese attack.
It has been said in the past that he runs things and it's obvious that the manager was scared of taking him off.
Sorry Ron, but you need putting out to grass. You have been great but to every sports person there comes a time when they need to realise there are younger, fitter and better people than you are, being denied a place by you hanging on.
