Good riddance. I can't stand Belgians, but I'm so glad they've flushed out the stench of the Yanks from this bastardised excuse for a World Cup.
Not the American team's fault of course, but the effect that the dictums of the most toxic person on this planet and his other little baldy chum (and the prioritisation of the dirty footprint of capitalism with its advert breaks, over the basic sporting honesty of the world game) have had on this tournament is disgusting.
Had they gone on, that sort of filth might have become embedded permanently, but as they've had a whipping hopefully they'll crawl away, pretend it didn't happen, and concentrate on whooping about the World Series of Netball or whatever they normally do. |  |

Something seems suss with what Infantino said and in his statement. If they was an ongoing legal process looking at charges against Balagun (for the red card) then surely the USA team would know and they would inform the US govt to step back. Not that necessarily Trump would.
It's one thing FIFA doing this alone and maybe suspending the red card as the correct protocol may not have been used for VAR (as I don't think it was even a yellow initially), but the interference of the White House and calling the FIFA president direct puts a whole new perspective on it that the Americans just don't get as they hate to think they have been wronged.
And then their fans try to claim England cheated as our PM advised our FA (not called Infantino) to hold firm on retaining the original KO time vs Mexico. Oh and Mexico also rejected the proposed move but that doesn't suit the America fans agenda.
