What we thinking, £40 mill?

if we thought the old agent was fun, this lot are a different level, the father was known for getting the maximum for his clients. Rumours of clubs abroad being interested. I think we would be very lucky to see him start for us in August

Yes I agree, but that is if we can even get a good new signing. Anyone really good will be wanted by higher up the league and we will probably miss out. We seem to be struggling to get the signings we want now, without another one to have to find.

Losing him is just another player to find and we already need about 10.

It's all just a lot to do right now, It's potentially too much.

So, then, surely, he's absolutely emotionally invested in doing the best he can for Ipswich, as it serves his best interest?

He's clearly interested in his own career progression and by default that includes us scoring plenty.

Does that translate to 'his heart being in Ipswich'? None of us know! But the actions of changing agencies to engineer a move when let's be honest he's still got loads to prove here does not suggest that.

And as I said, that is fine! That is the case for most players. Unless you support the team or have been there for a while, that emotional attachment does not really exist.

Im not worried if he leaves. TBH, I feel Clarke is the better all round player anyway, if you asked me to compare the two...

Reminds me to ask; the singing bus driver on the promotion video, was his line “cheer up Philogene” a dig at Jaden? Seems like JP is known as a shy quiet kid who just wants to play football. In which case digging him out is uncalled for.

Whatever, 50million should be the starting price for any discussion.

I wouldn’t say dig, just banter innit. He probably gets ribbed by all the boys.

Get anywhere near 50m for Jaden and J.Clarke we’ve done exceptionally well.

Both looked out of their depth in the PL, more so physically than anything else. Both incredibly inconsistent even at Championship level.

Not sure either will fit our style next year, not sure you could really rely on either to deliver consistently, ultimately not sure either are good enough for the PL.

Probably was some bantz. Would have been better though if after he’d sung that line the camera had panned to a smiling Jaden. Although he’s barely in the video at all so maybe he wasn’t around.

Just thinking really, English player Tax, we're a prem side, he's on prem wages, scored goals and assisted last year, very important asset. I'd be disappointed if we don't get above £35 mill outright

The English tax only applies if they're being sold to a PL club

I think he might, one of the clubs in Europe.

But we have no idea if we even have an inside left position required this season.

If O'Neil plays 3-4-2-1, we'll need players more comfortable operating centrally, from in to out.

If he plays 3-5-2, he's a goner too.

A lot rests on whether GON will stick with 4-2-3-1 or not.

I did hear last week (pre all of this agent stuff) that West Ham were in his ear and toying with a player + cash offer. Imagine Wan Bissaka + £10-£15m would do very nicely for us.

Probably be Kilman - believe they are trying to offload him, and West Ham fans don’t rate him.

He also played for O’Neil at Wolves.

Innit. This narrative winds me up. Not everyone wants to be the centre of attention, fist pumping the north stand after a game or hanging over the balcony at Isaac's. And that's OK. He's quieter, unassuming, it doesn't mean he cares any less about the outcome.

Maybe if Nunez concentrated less on the performative bOll0cks and being the panto villain at Carrow Road he might've provided a match winning contribution like Philogene did.

Indeed, he also has this calmness and composure, the Nodge away pen being just one good example, you certainly need that at the top level..

My only concern is his physicality especially off the ball..it's a brutal league especially for likes of us having been there and suffered..

They are better players than when they first came to the club. Particularly Clarke who appeared a bit of a one trick pony. He isn’t now and will do fine in the Premier League.

Philogene? He has a lot going for him and in a decent side with a midfield, he will trouble some of the PL players. I’d keep them both, but if JP wants away, let him go and take the money. A lot of it as he’s under contract.

Yep.

Bizarre.

The problem with that whole statement is that he's only shown the attributes outlined in the Championship, in the Prem he's been found very wanting by both us and Villa. So "not being Premier League quality" isn't competent unfounded.

He hardly played for us on the Premier League (injury and playing for a team that was already relegated with no midfield) and made just 11 appearances for Villa at the age of 21/22.

He is a terrific footballer who has improved. To suggest he is not Premier League quality is unfair.

I hope he gets the chance to prove himself with us, but if he wants away, hopefully he will do so with somebody else.

Came into a struggling side, scored two goals away at Old Trafford and then got injured. Nit fair to judge him on that season.

Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened.
