Which part of that response isn’t replacing a label with another label.

I asked for real demographic data and science, not another label and someone else’s opinion.

Count Binface was able to make a precise policy based on what the country, and many people noticed on this site. That was to get Emma Hayes out of that Kitchen studio. And many people benefited from her being moved and her being able to have more airtime. She was a joy to listen too.

Now, your words, please explain, with demographic science and precision, why you are not simply name calling.

The answer is to imagine a different future.

But to do that, some people may have to sacrifice something.

The libs are the very last group to want to do that.

Farage will increase his vote share.

I think the media are going to regret the binface stuff.

We're heading to a huge showdown between Farage and Burnham at a general election and thoughts need to go into that and not the complacent, self congratulatory and sub Have I got News for You humour about a comedy character who was mildly amusing the first time around.

Wait, you mean Farage may get a larger share of votes in an election where all of the parties that usually take a chunk aren’t standing? Thanks for that Sherlock

You see. This is why I don't get involved in politics here.

Others in this thread have clearly articulated this better. I literally provided you with a link. Not to an opinion piece, but to an actual definition.

I bid you good day.

Sorry but surely you’ve realised by now. Links to random YouTube videos = good and proving the point, links to actual dictionary definitions = irrelevant

We're still bailing out bankers whilst your local library has closed.

It's undeniable that neoliberalism has created this world. It's been the dominant ideology!

We need to reimagine the future.

It's interesting that you pivot immediately to tax and the fear that the only answer is to increase taxes.

Everything is up for grabs in a reimagined world!

Where are we still bailing out the banks?

How would you fund things if not through tax? Have you been to Denmark, I have - they have incredible public transport and public service, funnily enough all funded through tax. The difference is they are unburdened with a huge pension bill. The left have not proposed anything different including Corbyn when he had his chance.

Hate the word "neoliberalism". It's not just forum lefties who use it indiscriminately. Supposed respected academics do too. It's been utterly hijacked. It used to mean Milton Freedman, Hayak, and Thatcher. Now it means everyone to the right of Che Guevara, including massive state expanders like Tony Blair, who pumped more money into education and health than for a generation (despite PFI). We no longer have the language to define real neoliberals. I've been forced, reluctantly, to start using the term "extreme neoliberals".

It would be nice if everyone understood this rather than talking up the chances of binface.

By the way, as ever when we interact can I just say how much I liked Colin Healy as a player. Very underrated.

It’s also an inaccurate descriptor for where we are - we aren’t a low tax, low regulation economy- we have stricter capital requirements and regulation than even the EU. We’ve also started renationalising the railway and have things like mandated caps on energy prices.

He just ignores the fundamental issues affecting the West (demographics), or doesn’t understand them - not sure which.

We all need to pay more tax. But that's not the only lever.

National Care Service?

There are more considerations than tax!

So a label.

The article was an opinion.

So you replaced a label, invented a few years ago by certain people with another label invented by people a different number of years ago.

Again, you haven’t said anything. You have just confirmed the contents of my early post, you have replaced one label with another, and posted someone else’s opinion.

Okay, there is the obvious question, if there is a perfectly good label, why not use that instead of the Centrist Dad label, just in the same way people don’t have to use the term gammon.

But not interested in that, let’s get back to the numbers, what have you got?

I’ve literally just factually demonstrated why we aren’t - it’s like talking to a child.

And the fact that we’ve had to honour a legal contract on the lease of some train carriages doesn’t change any of the facts I pointed out to you.

I think you'll find quite a few academic heavyweights who would contest the idea that neoliberalism isn't real.

How's GB Energy getting on?

Just a hint at why liberalism has destroyed the world and what general approach you are advocating would be fine thanks.

Then people could actually discuss your opinions properly, rather than waste time arguing over labels.

“ Our doubts are traitors, And make us lose the good we oft might win, By fearing to attempt.”

FFS, it’s the first and only thing I asked.

Even Count Binface listens, understands and can come back with a precise answer when posed a question.

Nobody is saying it isn’t real, but by its very definition- that isn’t what we have. ‘Neoliberalism’, or rather free markets isn’t where we are, we are not low tax, light touch regulatory environment. The energy market is not untouched by government intervention, spending caps are the antithesis of free markets capitalism. You wouldn’t consider for example Scandinavian countries as neo-liberal, they particularly Norway are mixed exonomies, and yet we have stricter regulation of the financial sector than they do.

Yes GB energy is a waste of time, the left never proposed state intervention in the energy production market. Corbyn only ever proposed to nationalise utilities, which makes up a whopping 2pc of your energy bill at an estimated cost of £200bn. It would have had de minumus impact on bills at huge cost.

So you want the number of centrist dads in the country?

Unsure how to be certain. But I think a free frightening amount although they are a minority.
