It looks as if Binface has got Deform ever so slightly rattled.
The number of 'gotcha'-type posts from their usual mouthpieces, 'exposing' him as a leftist establishment shill (seemingly because he's worked at the BBC) is rather amusing. Almost as if they're a little worried about what he might do to their dear Führage.
It's funny because nothing about the character is lefty at all. He just turns up for fun. Goes against left and right candidates and has no policies that would put him left or right.
So Reform must be a bit worried for sure. Bizarre times.
I also find it sad that 10 years later Leave and Remain is still a thing. People can argue if leaving has been a mistake or not but surely no one can claim it's fixed anything, as Leavers said it would.

It’s hilarious that they are taking him seriously. What a farce this whole situation has become. Distracting from Reform’s questionable finances by unmasking a guy who has been dressing as a bin.

Even though he died in 2020, he perfectly describes the Starmer/Labour Together project which stood for nothing (apart from not being the Tories), had no programme for government and was as illiberal as they come.
The sad thing for me is that the sort of society that those on the left like me want is merely the sort of social democracy that is taken for granted in much of western Europe.
Instead, we have a system (beginning with Thatcher) in which following is the case.
"The UK has very high inequality of income compared to other developed countries; the 9th most unequal incomes of 38 OECD countries (OECD, 2022).
The UK’s wealth inequality is much more severe than income inequality, with the top fifth taking 36% of the country’s income and 63% of the country’s wealth, while the bottom fifth have only 8% of the income and only 0.5% of the wealth according to the Office for National Statistics.
Inequality of wealth and income fell during the 20th century, but began rising again in the 1980s."
Is it any wonder that many people have given up on the two main parties but given where we are, it is very difficult to see how we get out of this mess?
Of course, one can say that the rest of Europe is also facing problems, but my experience of the Spanish health system, and my friend in Paris's of the French health system, indicates those countries are in far better shape when it comes to public services.

I can sort of see why they might be worried.
Führage has billed this as 'Clacton vs The Establishment', and Binface is definitely the anti-establishment option.
With none of the mainstream parties standing, their voters may choose to vote for Binface for a laugh, and to give Führage a bloody nose. Likewise, with Restore not standing there's not another serious racist candidate for those who are disillusioned with Führage to vote for.
It'd take an absolute perfect storm for Deform to lose, but it's probably a lot more likely than if some serious opposition candidates were standing.

"...he is asset of the deep state to undermine democracy and right-wing politics"
So the deep state are using a bloke dressed as a bin and pretending to be an Alien to undermine democracy?
Still, at least we don't have posters who embarrass themselves by publicly sharing similar views eh...

Fair enough.
It's still funny though as Farage brought it all on himself
I see that Sky is now showing a list of all (putative) candidates, although having looked at the rules, I am not sure this is strictly necessary at this stage.
Maybe they are doing it out of an abundance of caution, especially given how much publicity has been given to Farage and Binface.

I tend to lean further left than liberal but I have to say that your technique of asking leading questions constantly, without enabling the conversation to move on and not just giving your opinion with reasoning is quite annoying!
It's obvious you blame everything on the liberals but I've no idea why, nor what you think we need to do instead.
The libs need a period of self reflection imo. They can't see themselves as the good guys automatically.

Farage will increase his vote share.
I think the media are going to regret the binface stuff.
We're heading to a huge showdown between Farage and Burnham at a general election and thoughts need to go into that and not the complacent, self congratulatory and sub Have I got News for You humour about a comedy character who was mildly amusing the first time around.

Increasing your vote share vs a bloke dressed a bin shouldn't be considered a win.

They are actually running scared! I thought it would be difficult to make this situation look worse for Reform than it already does, but somehow they have succeeded.
Ashton out

Great post.
I still think there are many in the PMC who seem totally unaware of what is happening. I think they just want Burnham or the latest 'competent' figurehead to win and for all the noise to go away so they can go back to pretending it's 2012.
Country and political landscape has changed forever for complex reasons and they don't really seem to have any interest in it. It's just an inconvenience to them.

I may when I have time, but I was hoping you'd type something with your own opinion rather than posting a video of someone else's.
And posting a link to an incredibly long article that I have to read just to find out your opinion (that someone else has written) isn't going to work either I'm afraid.
Again, if I have time I'll have a read.

Liberalism is centrism. And perhaps that's where the problem lies.
I think the centrist Dads are the epitome of the problem.
I’m sure you do, but you have a very simplistic outlook. Almost unanimously, it’s understood that the biggest issue impacting standards of living in the west is the demographic changes and ratio of working tax payers to the those retired. The other day you pointed to 1945 and post war funding, at that point there was 5 working taxpayers to every retired person. That ratio has now halved to 2.5, that is why public services have deteriorated.

Try this.
I'd be interested in your thoughts.
Liberalism doesn't believe in anything anymore.

Do you only reply with YouTube clips?
How about formulating some thoughts of your own and engaging with what I wrote. The irony that you say others don’t believe in anything, and all you ever do is share other people’s opinion pieces (ie there is no depth of thinking, facts, understanding the critical issues we face). Literally the vacuous thinking that you project on to others.

See, what you are doing just there, is the real problem.
You are sneering at people for sneering at people.
Your man misses this as well.
British people are similar to us Irish, self-deprecating, slightly irreverent, not egotistical,….but politics is now full with ego centric, self-important, self-righteous, humourless people that drive people through emotion, derision, hate and fear, and of course ignore experts.
Hate is a very strong emotion, we even have people on here saying they hate people they have never met.
Centrist Dads, is just a fake label you and others use, just like some people use the term gammon, as a way trying to appear superior. Ooohhhh If only centrists dads, would open their brains and understand I am correct.
That is as ridiculous as claiming 99s should be 99p. But if that did happen, that would actually be a good thing, and I am a vegan that wouldn’t benefit.

Adam Curtis puts it far more eloquently than I ever could.
But okay here you go!
Liberalism which was the dominant ideology of the last 50 years plus is no longer able to explain the world we live in. It doesn't believe in anything.
Neoliberal politics has produced the world we live in today. Austerity, failing services and infrastructure, a feckless political class who have ceded control and a deep hopelessness.
Trump, Brexit, austerity, the modern state of things are SYMPTOMS of liberalism's failure to imagine a future.
Unable to accept this, liberals blame Trump etc on anything other than themselves. Russia or fake news etc.
The Kamala is brat stuff was the distilled example. The Dems couldn't understand the gap between them and ordinary people.
When things don't go their way, the libs show no curiosity or desire to understand. Instead it's easier to blame people being 'stupid' or 'hoodwinked'.
Trump isn't the bogeyman. He's just a symptom.
Until liberals wake up to all this we will sleepwalk into dark times.

Centrist Dads exist.
They are a problem because they represent the lack of curiosity, complacency and sanctimony of modern liberalism.
