That shocked me this morning when I switched on. I loved a little film called ‘The Dish’, about an Aussie tracking station that looses sight of Apollo 11 and blags its way through, lovely comedy/drama. He was great in early Peaky Blinders too. RIP Sir.

Yes me too. For years and years for me he was Damien Thorn. He planted a big impression on my young mind at the time. What a tremendous actor to have that effect. In fairness he has had a long career and achieved so much. RIP Sam.

The Dish is still one of my favourite films; Sam played his part magnificently.

He will be sorely missed. R.I.P.

It’s only now that I realise the body of work he had was so huge and diverse from this thread… definitely trying to avoid me typecasting him.
My daughter only knows him from “possession” which I’m extremely proud of as I guess it = I produced a cinefile….. or a rather disturbed daughter.
