Spain could be the Antithesis to France. Well drilled team working hard and quick touches to free up others.
France starting to lose their proverbial cool while also getting into decent areas.

The French have a fantastic front 4, the problem is that front 4 never help with defending - its been the same all WC.
Spain have (so far) stopped the ball arriving to that front 4 and then hitting the French on the counter. The 2 French fullbacks are struggling especially because neither winger is coming back to help.

I think it’s wonderful.
Completely nullified a very very good team playing slick, controlled, creative, incisive football. But if you have got other ideas that’s cool.
And funny bringing on Pedri at the end who gets in everyone elses first team.

I think this is where my (unsophisticated) gripes come in. They’re brilliant on maybe 85% of the pitch but totally scrappy and uninspired in the final 15%. Maybe I’d love it if I supported them, but as a neutral I just found it painful. | | | |
