I was driving back from North Wales on the day of the last one and it was all over by the time I got home. I was planning to watch it but had wrongly assumed an evening kick off.

I remember watching the Italia 90 third place game as a kid. Two things stick in my mind:

- None of the players seemed to give a s**t

- The officials were so intent on ensuring Italy won the game. I recall England had a David Platt header ruled out for offside when replay showed he was about 4 yards onside when the ball was crossed and still onside when he headed it.

Nope not even factored it into my life in any way .. it’ll be as always a glorified pre/post season friendly with no jeopardy and a lot of goal opportunities due to players being rested and everyone wanting to avoid injuries.
As mentioned the golden boot battle is the only thing worth keeping an eye out for.

To be honest, I probably won't watch the final now, we have family up for the weekend, so having a BBQ and enjoy the evening outdoors. I just hope Spain win for the sake of proper football
