This figure is based on reported basic salaries for the upcoming season and rough calculations.

There’s punching up and punching down.
One of the legacies of having an empire and having been varying levels of dicks to people all over the world for a few centuries is there’s going to be lingering resentment. I’m not talking about the falklands especially but our image as a country generally is never going to be plucky underdogs.
Economics forces people to Europe. They don’t all want to be here. They have to be. A lot of people I know are grateful but also resentful that they have to live away from their loved ones in order to build a life

There are many countries around the world with a legitimate grievance with the British with regards to the imperial period, though I'm always confused as to why the Scottish and the Welsh seem to be given a pass on that one. Scots in particular made a disproportionate contribution to the business of Empire.
Ghana, for instance, might have raised a banner about slavery, Empire, reparations, various colonial era massacres and repressions (though decolonisation there was relatively amicable compared to other British colonies).
The Argentinians? Argentina was never a British colony. Argentinians aren't an oppressed indigenous population, they are the descendants of settler colonists. Argentina is a settler colonial state that inflicted a genocide on the indigenous population. They are as much a product of imperialism as Britain is. There's no "punching down" here in any historical geo-political sense.
There's very few post-1945 British military engagements that I view with much degree of legitimacy but of all of them the Falkland Islands is clearly the most legitimate. No indigenous population was displaced for the British colony on the island. Its ownership was briefly disputed between two colonial powers long before the Argentinian state existed and that's it. The population of the island have a right to self-determination and it should be the international community's responsibility to maintain that right (not just Britain!).
(Only caveat I'd offer is that war with Argentina would have been eminently avoidable if the diplomatic trends of the 1960s and 1970s had been maintained and the Thatcher Government was part of that collapsing) [Post edited 18 Jul 9:20]

Maybe it's you whom needs to go read the genocidal history of Argentina maybe, go read the racist passages of the current Argentinian constitution, go read what other respected Latino sports journalist write about them and what Argentinians write about those journalists and some of the legendary black Brazilian players if you want to talk about respect for South Americam footballers in the perspective of Imperialism.

A major factor in encouraging the invasion was the planned withdrawal of the patrol vessel HMS Endurance, that was planned by the Wilson government and then rubberstamped when the Thatcher government came in. Sent the wrong signals and was why Defence minister Nott offered to resign at the outbreak. Nowt to do with diplomatic trends in my view. It's OK he probably came over on a plane rather than a rubber dinghy. Do you not find it strange that there aren't too many UK players going to Argintena seeing the money is so good there? No I don't find that strange at all. No one said that the money in ARgentina was good. So I'm not sure what point you are trying to make.
There are literally dozens of leagues that the Argentine players could play in and make good money, rather than having to sell their souls playing in a country they despise.
