Without the Spitfire we may well have lost the Battle of Britain and then be exposed to an invasion by the German forces. The camouflage pays homage to that used by the RAF on their planes during that battle. So I can see why they have done it...but I'm not sure its the right place for it.

Regardless of the reason and ethics, it is a terrible kit. They could have done something much better honouring the spitfire.

It does seem to be a quickly made marketing type decision via word association. As you say, a generic camo kit doesn't seem to scream spitfire in any way. Nice original thought, but very uninspiring end result.

Needs to have the old tin hats with twigs and grass, ala Dads Army. The flare guns pre game will give it the authentic feel

| Drab on 19:05 - Jul 18 with 279 views | ButchersBrokenNose | This reminds me of the logic behind the grey England away kit for Euro 96. Umbro openly admitted they designed it "because it looks good with jeans." Both were nice shirts, but not for playing in. That's why we have third kits now. | | | |
