I've got two mates who are celtic fans, who both think its a great bit of business for us. I watched quite a lot of Celtic at the end of last season as they built the title winning run, and Maeda was critical for that, both with his energy and press, but also crucial goals at big moments.

Celtic fan here who has watched hundreds of games with Maeda. He is my (and most Celtic fans’) favourite player and is a massive loss for us.
You’re getting a player with truly world class pace and work ethic. He will chase down what appear to be unsalvageable situations and salvage them. He will sprint more per game than any player you have ever seen. I am not exaggerating when I say that I don’t think there’s another player on the planet who presses as much and as effectively as Maeda.
Beyond those world class parts of the game, he is a solid player. He’ll score big goals, but he’ll miss his fair share of big chances too.
£10M is ludicrously cheap for him (our boardroom is an absolutely shambolic mess that seems to be hell bent on ripping our club apart), and he is absolutely Premier League ready. You’ll like him. | | | |
