| Leicester Forum view of Fatawu sale 17:57 - Jul 21 with 4889 views | unstableblue | https://www.foxestalk.co.uk/to Some good views in here. Some felt he downed tools with all the others. But I think the general feeling is he’s a well liked, good player with a magic moment in him, who could do well for us. But needed selling, not a bad fee - although them taking Chaplin is making them feel how far they’ve fallen. Some key quotes: “Necessary really. We really need to go up or we'll be stuck selling our best every year.” “I'd have been gutted about losing him last summer. Now I'm not arsed. Don't get me wrong, he will do well with discipline and a set up that's basically everything ours wasn't. It's unfair to pin all our hopes on him and JJ like we did. That being said, he's another one who could not give a flying a **** when shit hit the fan. Maybe in time I'll forgive him more than others because of age, but anyone involved with last season will not be missed.” “Bye sweet prince. You gave us magic moments, and it should have been many more. You deserved better than Ipswich, but i bet you enjoy scoring some 98th minute deflected bangers. If they steal our song we should fine them.” “Good luck Abdul, it's a terrific coup for Ipswich.” “It's just so, so shit isn't it? We are absolutely not in League 1 because of Abdul Fatawu. I know a lot of the yer da types on here consistently spew about how he isn't bothered or doesn't try but I've never seen that from him. Frankly, if we had a squad with his attitude and ability we'd be a Premier League team.” | |

The fact that we’ve sold Fatawu to an Ipswich side 2 leagues above us, and our biggest signing so far is their cast off, Chaplin on a free, really boils my piss. I’m not against the Chaplin signing given our circumstances but if you predicted this two years ago, you’d be laughed out of town."

LOL. My brother in law is a Leicester fan. He says there’s real dislike for us up there following the seasons we both went up and down. Very similar to the Bournemouth brigade we have really.

Yet Leicester were awarded 33% more penalties in the season we went up together than we were last season.

What exactly is the dislike based on? They were the ones who were cheating! [Post edited 21 Jul 20:01]

Perhaps suggest to him that Chaplin could line up for them against our U21s in the EFL trophy

Well you know, apart from the fact there was no reason to not like us, other than breaking up the PL monopoly of course.

The same opinion I have too. We didn't have an Omari type last season and didn't really replace what he brought to the team. Jack Clarke is different but there are similarities between the two. With Fatawu, it does feel like we now have that type of player again - someone who is willing to commit defenders with the ball, go at his man, not afraid to keep trying to make something happen etc. I like this signing a lot. He started the 24/25 season in the Premier League brightly, which attracted big clubs, but then did his ACL in November which finished his season. There is a talented player there who will have plenty of potential still.

Me too.., for cheating alone, but you do know they won a league title, did well in the champions league, won a charity shield AND an FA Cup just recently, and have won a few league cups. They’re the SIXTH most successful club in England since the turn of the century, they’re a big club by any measure, by league one measure they’re massive. Cheat and find out though. Losing in the oaky offs would be quite nice .., ideally to a club with zero history or revenue .., Milton Keynes would be poetic. Or Mansfield : ))

Let's not get ahead ourselves and be a little respectful. Leicester were until recently a much bigger club than us, we too spent a time in L1 so let's not forget where we came from. We're not going to ever pull off what they did by winning the Premier League, and I think everyone in the country at the time wanted them to do it, so I think we should praise that achievement. We're not rivals, never have been. Just a point in time we've been competing for the same thing and neither of us did particularly well. Cheating or not, they didn't do it on the field and it's always fans that suffer by the hands of the people at the top. I for one hope Chappers scores a hat full and they're back up sooner rather than later.
