There is a tendency to view black players as lazy. The stats don’t back up the many accusations of that that I’ve read. It doesn’t mean you can’t also dislike other players for other reasons too. |

To the point in hand, anyone who thinks Philogene isn’t Premier League quality hasn’t seen him play, in my view. For me, he is one of the most exciting, deadly players I’ve seen at this club in many a long day.

Let's be clear.
Philogene is a very very good player. He was deemed good enough to make a Premier League debut at 19 years old in a top 6 club at the time.
Whilst we've been sending out our youngsters to League One and League Two, Villa sent him to Stoke and Cardiff in the Championship where he impressed. He ended up back at Villa and came on against Bayern Munich in the CL before we bought him and I think we all know Villa haven't been particularly flush with cash, so was an easy deal for them.
He's quite literally one of the best players in the Championship last season and does everything well (other than perhaps in the air).
I've not taken to him on a personal level, that's nobody's fault, us fans feel like we have a right to access players sometimes whereas the reality is, they only have to do what they do on the pitch for us. It's a shame, but it's true.
I don't know anything about him other than he's a good footballer and gets cold hands.
He's worth a lot of money and Ipswich will need to trade players at some point to make the numbers work and he's probably one of our most valuable assets. Brighton have shown that you can sell your most valuable assets and continue (albeit our recruitment will have to prove itself).
If he stays, I think it's good news, if he goes, it's okay as long as we're able to use the money to recruit well. Nobody will ever know what was best.
I think he'll end up at a big club though, and I think he'll do very well, for a year or two, then move again. |  | | |

That’s the danger of relying solely on the Interweb Frimmers. The AI bots rely heavily on what is written in connected data sources on the Internet. That summary, if I’m not mistaken, was from when he was at Villa.
We were generating GeniusIQ replays and tracking data all last season, and the speeds I’m referring to are from that. AI will most likely not digest that yet, as it relies on watching video and seeing the inserts/overlays.

Yes, Chieo is exceptionally fast, and anyone who watched him for the RoI after he came back from his injury will know he's still very fast. His pace and bulk is part of the reason I feel he has a part to play in the PL for us. His age is against him though. | | | |

The one thing he is, is fast enough. This is not the first time this has been suggested (and corrected), and I don't know where the idea came from. He's been clocked within a couple of km/h of the fastest players around. |
a couple of km for an elite sports person especially in the premier league where our probable main outlet for goals is going to come from wingers, is a massive shortfall. His pace is average to high as opposed to Leif who is rightly at the top speed levels needed to get past defenders, get to the by line to cross etc. Nothing against Jaden but i have always preferred Clarke who is trickier and able to go both ways but feel if wants to go dont think GON is going to get in his way too much with the right offer coming in. | | | |

I think it's very sad. He joined the club in January 2025, got injured in February 2025 and missed the rest of the season. Missed the first couple of games of the new season, Played well at home and scored some important goals for us before getting injured again in January this year. Came back for the final few games and we were promoted.
The club is now back in the Premier League and you would think it's an ideal opportunity for him to push on with his career. To be it just reinforces my belief that he vere really wanted to come here in the first place and never looked happy here. He went missing in the dressing room celebration video and didn't bother turning up at the end of season dinner to collect his award for goal of the season. [Post edited 28 Jul 17:20]

Him and his team seem very odd. On the face of it, it looks like it's just all about moving and getting more money?
I'm not sure what teams are goinmg to want him, but I doubt it's a top team in a top league.
