Ben Jacobs is one of the most reliable transfer sources. Tends to post independently.

Really hope this goes through. Marc’s and Enciso closing down defences is what we need.

Agree completely about Jacobs. When its the general TalkSport posts, they are invariably ridiculously wide of the mark, but when Jacobs posts independently, as you say, that's pretty reliable.

| Julio Enciso likely to happen on 22:55 - Jul 31 by TRUE_BLUE123 | Tbf not many of our players were worth passing the ball to last time.... He does want his own ball a lot of the time but when he is your best player I feel like I can tolerate it because at one point he is going to whack one in from 35 yards. Works his socks off as well. I think this is a very valid point. He joined during one of the worst second halves to a season in the clubs history. Difficult to shine in that setting. I always thought he looked good. Always tried to make something happen, but many of our players confidence was shot by then, so must have been a challenging environment to play in. | |

Not forgetting Phil already said this is on whom I would say is even more reliable tbf. This one going to happen isn’t it. Makes sense. Do hope he learns to release the ball more at times from last showing but in general he is a game changer, that X factor we haven’t got atm.

Who would this usher out of the door? I suppose if there is any truth in Philogene looking for a move, that would be an obvious answer. But if not, whose days are numbered? Mehmeti? Nunez?

In a 4-2-3-1, we would have Maeda, Enciso & Fatawu as the starting 3 behind the centre forward, as opposed to J Clarke (from 2 years ago), Szmodics & Hutchinson. I can't see us playing Nunez as a #10 much this season in the PL though, so I wouldn't include him in the mix there. Assuming Philogene will be off, we'll have Jack Clarke for the left, with Wes Burns & McAteer on the right. Maybe Mehmeti will get a run in the middle but can play left side too, or GON will see enough in Egeli to not send him on loan & play him centrally, but I think we might still be in the market for another #10, even if we do sign Enciso. Cheio Ogbene has done well over the summer, by is being deployed all over the pitch in the friendlies, which suggests he is not being considered for our right sided attacking role.

That’s a really hard working, energetic three. So much of this is going to depend on the striker though. Add a deadly striker to that and it starts to look really well balanced. We’re going to have to get lucky and strike gold with that piece of recruitment I think.
