Yeah I'm sure he saw the line infront of him and mistook it for the edge of the box. Looks terrible but it's almost a muscle memory thing. Feel sorry for him really as it's not his fault there are extra markings that shouldn't be there.
Also, why is it red? I'm obviously not up on the law in this situation but with two defenders goal side of the attacker it's not denial of a goalscoring opportunity? [Post edited 4 Aug 9:25]

Should have been a yellow. I’ve got some sympathy too, you can see he’s judging everything by that rugby pitch line and it would have been instinctive. Mind you, he did walk over the lines of the box to get there 🤣 |  |
