Is Ed anywhere near claiming Suffolk's top spot?

It's pretty cool that Eno is Melton born.

He can't be far off. I love Eno who has 50 years of extra sales time and the first Roxy Music album, but he's hardly a massive selling artist. But what counts as sales now? Doubt Ed sells many albums. It's all streams

That map has been doing the rounds for years. Very outdated now. Sheeran has sold 150m records. Harry Styles (Worcestershire) has definitely sold more records than Cher Lloyd.

As the basis seems to be where artists were actually born (eg Olivia Newton-John in Cambridge), they'd probably regard Ed as a Yorkshireman.

Hasn't Brian Eno moved to Norfolk? So he is no longer someone we should be discussing.

Also not convinced that Emerson Lake and Palmer were all from the same county

I can't think of a Kent musician off the top of my head but Joss Stone being the best selling blows my mind.

A few of those would need to change on that basis.

Even then, suspect Sheeran would have outsold the Kaiser Chiefs!

Greg Lake's Dorsetian, the others weren't and they weren't formed there.

That album was massive in the States and she got real exposure out there from it.

Fair play. She could sing to be fair, IIRC. Just seems wild that a county as big as Kent and with a big arts scene has never produced anyone bigger.

Good point. There's no chance Joss Stone has out sold the Rolling Stones. I'm not having it.

If Ed and the Kaiser Chiefs got into an argument about this, I'd predict a riot.

Eno is top tier, as a musican and producer. Massive influence on music, invented Ambient Music as a genre. If Ed sells a billion albums it would still be Eno.

Nothing against Mr Sheeran, but he’ll never come close to being in the conversation with Eno, given the influence the latter has had over music.

Same applies to pretty much everyone on that map.
