Goal you'd watch on repeat 17:39 - Aug 12 with 3671 viewsfarkenhell

Inspired by another thread where I wax lyrical about Frans Thijssen and his magical ability to control a ball, which led to one of Town's greatest ever goals (FA Cup 3rd round -v- Villa 1981), which single goal could you watch / have you watched over and over and over again.

Not for its significance or the occasion, but for the sheer beauty of the goal itself. Had a wow factor. Made you think blimey, I'll not see that again in a hurry.

Doesn't necessarily have to be limited to Ipswich, but for me it's got to be that goal (Mariner), or more recently this one:

That’s the goal that made me support Town! It won goal of the month on MOTD too.

Cheers,

Most Matt Le Tissier goals but this one probably tops the list:

I’m behind the goal in that tiny little stand for that.

Despite so many great choices, I think Reuser’s at Wembley. Everybody at that end knew what’d happen next and what it meant.

My heart went straight through my boots when that goal went in and everyone went crazy.

Johnson at Anfield. Roger, Burns v Huddersfield, for the moment - Sarmiento. So lucky to have seen so much.

The best goal I’ve seen by the opposition was Leighton Baines at PR for Wigan in 2004.

"best goal I’ve seen by the opposition"...well, not Town this time...

He had a spell one season when he seemed to score a worldy every week.

Ditto Tony Yeboah.

In the women's game, I've always liked this one, as well. Yeah, it's not the most outstanding goal you'll ever see, but I love a cheeky effort that pays off!

Marcus's first goal in this match; 2-0 down and Johnno off injured...thought we were toast, but then he unleashed that thunderb@st@rd. Was watching the match on TV in the front room of a shared house I was living in at the time with a flatmate and his girlfriend quietly reading the Sunday papers, and when I jumped out of my chair screaming when it went in the pair of them almost sh1t themslves

Yes I was just thinking of this one too!

I remember that game, although never realised/forgot that Chris Woods was in goal for Reading.

As well as George's outstanding finish, equally as rare as hen's teeth was a headed goal from Paul Mason. Almost Tabby-esque.

Yeah, I'll take that one on repeat, the whole Bishop, Chambers, Tabb move.

I was certain it was going to be ruled out for a foul on both Boro players.

Love that goal

Marcus Stewart has scored three of the best goals that I have watched most.

1) Play off semi as you state
2) His goal against Liverpool at Anfield
3) His chip against Helsingborgs

Add in Jim's goal where he skins every Bolton Player going and Burns of course and that makes for a decent list!

Favourite two non-Town goals have to be Yeboah vs Wimbeldon and Cantona's chip.

I got a bit of a dirty look from Geraint. As he was about to autograph my programme, I cheekily asked him if he could stick it in the top corner...if he knew how to .
He did .
