I cant remember hearing about these at all growing up. You heard of injuries of course but i cant ever remember hearing of players collapsing.

But i remember Lee o'neill saying something about footballers bodies are not made for football.. is there becoming an element of truth in this with the speed in which the game is now played and the intensity of the games considering there seems to be reports of players collapsing annually now but also the seeming increase in acl imjuries aswell ( appreciate not linked just something that feels like ita getting worse)

The human body is not really designed for any sport, that’s why only a few truly excel in their sporting field.

As for injuries like ACL, they have always happened, as have collapsing players; it’s just the level of media coverage around professional sport and especially football has increased exponentially over the last 20 years with social media and 24 hour sports news channels.

Players today work and train harder than at any time in the past. They are pushing beyond the limits of the human body.

Wasn’t Brian Clough’s career ended by an acl injury?

Sometimes I think about the frothing lunatics I’ve put on ignore, who will have kept replying to me again and again, but I don’t even realise they exist.

All running sports? Pretty sure when we chased woolly mammoth, we had to sometimes change direction quickly while running too.

Think it’s all down to a combination of different factors but maybe the biggest one is that compared to thirty years ago, everything is reported to such a grater extent. It gives a false impression that that incidences happen more frequently than previously.

The human body hasn't evolved to that level. Eventually the human body will evolve into something different, as all species evolve, not that any of us will be alive to see that.
Well...
We humans would evolve but the human brain is developing robots instead. Watch the current robot Olympics going on in China, that is coming to a football ground near you in the future. Many love to play football games on their PlayStation etc, moving to watching 11 robots vs 11 robots will be the natural next step, no acls injuries then.

Covid vaccines tend to trigger pericarditis and myocarditis in teenagers and young men. In extreme cases this causes sudden collapse and death. In other cases it causes a permanent reduction in physical capacity. Bersant Celina had heart issues of this type. His subsequent career may have been impacted negatively as a result.

Simply not true.

"tend to trigger" suggests regular such instances. Utter utter bollx.

There is tons of evidence.

If you are genuinely interested in the topic, Google "Covid vaccines trigger Myocarditis and Pericarditis in young men."

If you have a psychological need to believe the brainwashing propaganda that Covid vaccines are universally "Safe and Effective", you are free to do so.

OK, having to live with a conspiracy theorist myself (and be branded a "mainstream sheep" daily), I took you up on that and used your exact quote. A Google search reveals that "The risk of developing myocarditis or pericarditis is significantly higher from contracting the SARS-CoV-2 virus itself than from getting vaccinated. Studies published by the American Heart Association and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) demonstrate that a COVID-19 infection carries up to a 20 times higher incidence of heart inflammation, alongside risks of severe respiratory failure and long COVID. For these reasons, major health organizations—including the World Health Organization (WHO)—continue to state that the overall benefits of vaccination outweigh the small risk of heart inflammation for all age groups."

The BHF seems to suggest that there is a greater risk of myocarditis from Covid-19 itself rather than from the vaccine. (18 months old the following link so if you have anything more recent that might contradict that now might be a good time to share).

That’s the thing - most people acknowledge that there is a very small risk that vaccinations might trigger some sort of reaction.

But getting vaccinated massively outweighs not getting vaccinated.

I realise that my language is very simplistic but that is nevertheless the crux of it.

I know you are only implying that Celina had the issue because of the vaccine, rather than claiming it outright (covering yourself, which is a bit sneaky), but from what I have found, in Celina's specific medical history, his condition was a verified outcome of catching the actual virus rather than receiving a vaccine. Can you prove otherwise?

Celina had pericarditis as a complication of having had Covid, nothing to do with any vaccine conspiracy.

I'm not letting this go. I know I won't convince you, but it is important for others to know when someone is spouting BS. As I say, living with the same sort of person ("propaganda!" brainwashing!"), this needs to be countered. I read the article you linked to. It says "the benefits of vaccination would still far outweigh the risks in this age group." I can add other quotes from there if you like.

That doesn't seem to say anything substantively different to the BHF summary and even includes the key sentence, "Of note, the highest risk in young men based on our systematic review with meta-analyses is still considered a rare adverse reaction."

I made a mistake in invoking Google, which is a key player in shaping 'official' propaganda narratives, including the false claim that Covid infection causes a majority of cases of pericarditis and myocarditis.

I should have said, ask your favorite AI program. Here is what chatgpt says:

"Yes. COVID-19 vaccines—particularly mRNA vaccines such as Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna—can rarely cause myocarditis and/or pericarditis, and the risk is highest in adolescent and young adult males. This is a recognized causal association, not merely a theoretical possibility."

OK, I asked ChatGPT (as mentioned, any AI bot can be tweaked to your own preferences). My ChatGPT says:
In mid-2021, when transmission was high and population immunity was much lower, the CDC estimated that for every million second mRNA doses given to males aged 12–29, vaccination would prevent roughly 560 hospitalisations, 138 ICU admissions, and six deaths, while causing an estimated 39–47 myocarditis cases. On those assumptions, the benefit–risk calculation favoured vaccination quite substantially... For a healthy man in his early 20s in 2021, I think it is fair to say that taking the primary vaccine was a rational choice. COVID was circulating heavily, immunity was lower, vaccines provided substantially greater protection against serious disease than they do against infection today, and COVID itself could cause myocarditis and other complications. WHO consequently concluded at the time that the benefits still outweighed the myocarditis risk, while recognising the causal vaccine association.

So now we come back to your verb "tends". I would say there is (was) NOT a "tendency" for the vaccine to trigger the condition. That, I would suggest, is propaganda and brainwashing on your part.
