What do we reckon now transfer wise then? 10:59 - Aug 24 with 4287 viewstractorboy1978

Four more in - LCB, CM, 10/winger, ST.

Out - Palmer, Ogbene, AAH, Mehmeti, Taylor, Humphreys

More outs than ins at this stage I think.

In:

Striker (different profile to Emersonn)
CM (Palacios?)
LCB (experience)

Out:

Palmer
Taylor or Humphreys
Ogbene
Van Oevelen (to Valencia...)
Mehmeti (wouldn't rule it out)
Al Hamadi (remember no squad number)

We need a similar profile to Emersonn imo. The blueprint for the sort of striker you want as a newly promoted team is clear.

Definitely don't need a 10 or a winger.

Someone to cover LB/LCB, Palacios & Delap and we're done.

We absolutely do. And we will end up with another option there.

Personally we absolutely do need a RW, the drop off from Fatawu is huge in my opinion.

Plus I feel we’d be looking to bring in a starting LCB, not someone to cover

Yeah, an injury to Fatawu leaves us glaringly weak on the right flank. I think another RW or one capable of playing either flank feels likely (potentially one of our PL loan spots?)

Ethan Nwaneri. Maybe. Worry we will take Reiss Nelson though.

2 loan, and 2 permanent to finish the window off I reckon.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

We won't want to end this window with McAteer as our 20 minutes off the bench option/first in line to start if Fatawu isn't fit.

Ogbene??? Oh come on...

Re. McAteer, I'd be happy to loan or get our money back on him if we can get someone better. Do you really think McAteer and Ogbene are PL quality?

Keep Egeli.

Ogbene will go surely. Not sure he will but Mcateer going would be understandable, not a Prem player.

Bring a winger in and you have Fatawu/New winger. Egeli can play there, so could Maeda if needed.

No chance of Nwaneri unfortunately, Arsenal are said to have heavily analysed teams he could go out to, with assurance that he will start and play the majority of each game

He would come straight into our side. Not getting game time wouldn't be the problem. But I expect he ends up higher than us.

Oh I agree completely, will end up higher for sure. Just think if we did have a chance, they might see we’ve spent heavily for a newly promoted side in the 10/Rw position already

Exactly that. Need a cf that can slot into the same role if Emersonn is injured.

Agreed, and as Clarke demonstrated, players won't stick rigidly across their main forward positions. I get that people may think there is a drop-off, but we aren't replacing all 22 starters and finishers.

I don't think we will see more than a striker and CM. That's despite thinking we need cover at LB/LCB.

I think we would have heard more links in other places by now. Things falling though, interest demonstrated, and so on. We only have that for Striker and CM.

I'm not sure 'assurances' are really much of a big thing anymore. Of course they'd look for opportunities for him to start but he's not getting guaranteed game time anywhere significant.

Maybe in the Championship but If you are starting games and not producing in Europe's top 5 leagues, you are not going to play, assurance or not.

I'm shocked that after a few friendlies people are confident enough that Egeli is sufficient to come off the bench and make an impact regularly. I'm fine with him being third choice there but we can't become too reliant on Enciso.

I'm not sure you'd be dropping Fatawu in favour of someone who has hardly pulled up trees everywhere he's been?

He's just cost us the best part of £20M and started brilliantly.

Fatawu has had a far better career to Nwaneri to date.

I think Egeli is. Plus we have Nunez who can play there if not required in the deeper role.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?
