Poll: If we were to spend £200m would you rather

It would have been smarter to have had offered him to Burnley as Part-Ex.

I think that depends on whether Hirst wanted to go to Burnley, doesn't it ?

Poll: To make him more acceptable what should Gary O'Neill change his middle name to ?

Surely every transfer window, we must tell themselves that we won't wait until the final day to get business done.

If we'd have made an offer at the end of last week for Fleming he'd surely been wrapped up by now. Abraham might have been a bigger coup, but what a waste of time. Why wait on him to make a decision? For both teams to come to an agreement and then the player being the one to be given time to make up his mind. Should have pulled the plug there and then.

Oh well.... at least Flemming is in Suffolk and willing to join ( if Burnley can find a striker in 8 hours).

If he had signed for Monaco, or even LA Galaxy, then that point could be raised.

But Burnley is surely on a par with Stoke, in football terms, and as a place to live, isn't it?

Indeed, would leave us essentially where we were a couple of years ago when Hirst got injured, Broja deal having not happened.

Nothing on defenders. Someone suggested to me last week we were interested in Honest Ahanor, who has just joined Palace on loan, with the deal structured very much like the one which has been confirmed this morning, so may well have been in for him, although wasn't able to get that confirmed.

Broja didn’t go on to pull up any trees though (albeit we’ll obvs never know if might have been different with us).

It’s praying and straw-clutching territory now!

Thing is you can't be leaving it until the last day to get a striker in, and then it be totally dependent on whatever Burnley do.

We must have a deadline time in our heads, where we pull out of any deal and move on to someone else.

Sky have breaking news from Town after the break. Presumably this will just be an update of where we are now, which actually broke ages go but they were too busy repeating what was going on, or not going on, at the important clubs to notice.

Poll: Who would you play at right centre back on Saturday?

Nothing about Burnley wanting to sign a replacement first.

Ruddy Vipotnik! I wonder if we'll go for him out of desperation if Burnley block Flemming's departure?

Sounds like it's going to happen. Just trying to fleece us for more cash. Can't blame them.

How desperate would they be to keep him anyway if he wanted out? Not exactly ideal for any club.

I think something is building at Stoke, probably down to Jon Walters as Sporting Director. They haven't made a great start to the season but they also don't have the relegation from the top tier monkey on their back.

Yeah, that is what it is really.

Sure, the main add one's will be reliant on staying up!

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?
