Fill up your oil/petrol/diesel soon 16:58 - Sep 15 with 2940 viewsElderGrizzly

Saudi Arabia just confirmed they have cancelled all oil exports to Europe for September and analysts expect the same for October too.

Due to damage from the drone strikes at the end of last week.

Where is diesel £1.66 please, or do you mean unleaded?
I just paid £1.92 at Morrisons in Felixstowe for diesel.

That won't stop the forecourts, any negative news on the oil industry, they whack it up at the pumps instantly, regardless of the scenario.

Well the wholesale price will increase. Tax is a far greater amount, about 10pc retailer margin versus 55pc tax (and VAT on top of that)! Burnham should look at some temporary alleviation but of course the treasury does very well when the price goes up!

Bloomberg was reporting they thought that energy prices would increase 25% in January.

That'll be a laugh.

Not sure many people can afford £40k+ on a new car in the current economic climate.

Why does it have to be a new car?

Second hand EVs aren't actually that badly priced.

It is all about supply and demand. The US exports more oil than it imports but prices at the pump reflect the global position. If Saudi reduce exports prices go up, even Countries that don’t buy from Saudis.

Profits are expressed as a percentage of income. In cash terms profits are rising at consumers expense.

The treasury are also benefit as VAT revenue increases per litre.

Indeed. I’m basically going to use the wood burner for heating this winter and am fortunate enough to have some smallish dead trees at clients gardens that I’m currently logging.
Regarding the current petrol/diesel prices, it’s gone up 6 pence at my local garage since Monday and was told by the proprietor this morning that it will be going up again next week to over 2 quid a litre.
Thanks to the orange spunk trumpet and the other protagonists, no sign that the price of oil will come down in the foreseeable.

In the same boat to coin a phrase. Thank goodness for a chainsaw and ash die back disease!
