| Abdul and online abuse on 15:30 - Sep 21 with 1010 views | Vaughan8 | I find it really odd that people go onto Twitter/X whatever else and post this stuff. I'm sure I read on one occasion when this behaviour happened and the guy got found out etc, it was all over some bet he'd made. I'm guessing in the PL just heightens these idiots. I would assume they are not real fans. | | | |

| Abdul and online abuse on 14:25 - Sep 21 by ITFCSG | I'm not surprised though. I personally know of 2 friends (ethnic Hongkongese Chinese) who were subject to racist and xenophobic comments by fellow England fans at Wembley during the 5-0 WC qualifier win over ROI in 2024. Get this straight - being racially abused by your fellow England supporters - incredulous. Luckily haven't seen any racists amongst Town fans both home and away - guess there might be a small % though - but what's new in today's society? There is an obvious positive correlation with the rise of racism with nativism and support for sc*m like Farage over the past couple of years. |
I am not an England fan but used to go to the odd England friendly game after work with a friend back in the mid-80s. It was like attending a National Front rally, and unsurprisingly, I don't recall ever seeing any non-white England fans. To be fair, things do seem much better these days but still not perfect given your post. [Post edited 21 Sep 15:46]

It's not a conversation if you don't interact with the content of my response. "I've seen nothing, and I actively looked for it" sounds like you're questioning the existence.

We 100% have racist fans in our fanbase, probably no more than any other club and nor is representative as us as a fanbase (either now or historically) but it definitely isn't a case of it only being bots or people trying to besmirch us. Football clubs are representations of their society and unfortunately there will be a subset of both that have these views. I also don't subscribe to the 'they aren't real football fans' view as they almost certainly are. |
I've heard it in the last 10 years in the NS too.

I suppose i was mainly talking about the 70s and contrasting our position favourably with the fans/hooligans of other clubs who frequented the North Stand. Sadly, these days fewer black fans seem to attend our games.

| Abdul and online abuse on 08:34 - Sep 22 with 632 views | The_Flashing_Smile | Been a bit busy and only just noticed this (rarely look at any socials outside TWTD). Really odd if it was real Ipswich fans, I just can't get my head around how stupid they must be. I went the opposite way to them and did my latest match report poem as a tribute to him. Seems even more pertinent now. I haven't bothered filming any poems for the socials thus far this year, but I might have to do this one to show my support and to stand with Abdul. Just beggars belief. The Fat Of The Land Choo! Choo! It’s Fatawu, not easy to catch. A forward-brained bullet train cutting up the full back’s tracks. Stacks of pace, snatched shots. Sort of man of the match? Sent off but a joy to watch when let off the latch. Booked for a foul, we howled at another one for diving. Lame in a tight game, a shame but full marks for striving and arriving in the box with picks for locks and a box of tricks. No goals but finding holes, he’ll smash one soon between the sticks. A slick Rick, a rocket ship. A Spitfire fired up, an Omen. A Roman road roaming, groaning. Ashton, splash some cash on cloning! Not condoning the dive, but I’ve seen his kinesiology - a Firestarter snuffed out. Adored. Flawed. A prodigy. | |

"sounds like" No, you've read it as such, and if your mind goes to that point then I can't help that I'm afraid. You're wrong in your assumption, but I really don't care if you take that or leave it | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| Abdul and online abuse on 04:47 - Sep 21 by Benters | You do realise a lot of Reform supporters are black don’t you ? Hopefully the club will sort this out. Ashton In. |
"You do realise a lot of Reform supporters are black don’t you ?" According to a recent poll of voting intention, compared to the national averages, you're twice as likely to vote for Labour if you're black, and seven times less likely to vote for Reform. https://yougov.com/en-gb/artic It's almost like the vast majority (95%) of black voters don't see the attraction of political parties (I've added in Restore's share of the vote to bulk it out a bit) with racism at their cores.
