Spurs have burnt through a succession of big name managers and continue to be a circus of losers. If they’re smart - they are not - they’d go with McKenna and try and build something. |  |

Don't see Celtic being able to pay the compensation - £8M isn't it? They are fishing in the paddling pool with a jam jar.
Spurs have given De Zerbi a 5 year contract, so it will be very costly and you'd think more than a little embarrassing to jettison him so soon.
ManU - would they see McKenna as a carbon copy of Carrick?
My guess is that it's still to early, Kieran seems to have promised his Missus that he is taking a year out. The sheer exhaustion he showed at the end of last season, he looked close to breaking down. He won't want to be chucked into a dog fight to avoid relegation.

If Spurs sack De Zerbi then they will be in panic mode, and they won't be hiring someone who is relatively inexperienced in that case. It is not a well-run club.
Replacing Carrick with McKenna would be a hard sell, I think their fanbase will (rightly or wrongly) see them as one and the same. They will go back to a big name next.
I can see some upsides to Celtic, the question for them is whether they can afford the compensation. They could try to line him up for next season and hire (another) short-term option in the meantime. | | | |

I think we are probably overestimating KMs stock in the eyes of these struggling PL clubs.
I predict his next managerial job (if he takes one at all) will be back in The Championship, with one of the teams that drop end of this season. They will view him as a promotion specialist, and by that time the compo required will be much reduced, possibly zero (unsure what was agreed on this).
Edit - possibly if there's a big PL team looking in real trouble come Jan/Feb time they will take a punt on KM doing a rescue job for them, but also with half an eye on retaining him for promotion the following year if it doesn't work out. But this still depends on them being willing to fork out whatever compo is remaining on his contract, and on him feeling ready to return to work after less than a year out. [Post edited 21 Sep 9:24]

He's miles off being MUFC ready. If being our manager resulted in him needing to take a break from football I dread to think what that club and the pressures would do, they will never be what they were, and every manager is failing before they even start!
