Of course it should have been sorted earlier. I’m guessing the lawyers involved are playing this out.
As yes, Southampton have been docked a measly four points. Nothing. They have parachute money and the players accordingly. This ‘victim’ idea that somehow they were cheated out of a PL place and £200m is ludicrous. They’ve got away lightly and I’d bet that had they been a smaller less important club, say a Lincoln, they’d have been absolutely hammered.

The EFL have been very slow in acting. The manager and directors should have been interviewed immediately and the manager given the same punishment as occurred in Canada - 1 year ban, allowing the club to get a new manager in place before the start of the season. It should still be a 1 year ban, but a major problem looking for a new manager now. Maybe people think tough luck the club deserves all it gets. | | | |
