It's certainly taking its time. There didn't look to have been much/any progress between the Sunderland and Liverpool games.

There was some, but not as much as I expected. Where was Clegg and his B&Q paint brush when we needed him?

With the Leicester match following Sunderland they probably only had about a week to do any work before tidying it up again.

That's not fair. They have committed to having everything done by the Lazio friendly.

| Any recent pics of the west stand work? on 17:55 - Oct 4 with 3829 views | slade1 | I went on the stadium tour last week and there was a lot of work being done. Spades, shovels, hammers, screwdrivers everywhere! Plus quite a bit of noise from the workmen (or workwomen before anyone kicks off!) [Post edited 4 Oct 17:57]

Misread that as, "Clegg and his BBQ paintbrush". Was about the post that explains why the paint on the turnstiles was applied so poorly, but the same could be said of a B&Q paintbrush. [Post edited 4 Oct 18:44]

Which was essentially bars fully functioning, draft beers and the external bar windows. Internal wiring, finishes. Screens throughout the concourse. And I think the electronic boards that run across the roof. So seem to be taking their time. The internal finishes were still some way off against Arsenal. Lots of exposed pipes, wires. Phase 2 was supposed to be complete by then. Was there any sign of the fanzone surface being changed? It’s really tired.

It's almost like the builders took their time after the QPR match, then had a massive 'oh sh*t' moment leading up to Sunderland so started working around the clock. And now it appears they've done the same leading up to Fulham. I'm not a construction worker and I know they found hidden asbestos which delayed the build by 3 weeks, but it's not a complex extension with loads of piling etc. The new concourse is a tin shed with some turnstiles, bar/kiosks and WCs. I don't get why it's taken over 5 months, but maybe that's just my lack of understanding. On the plus side, I saw a post on twitter that suggests WiFi or a mobile boosting antenna has been installed on the West Stand roof (not sure which).

Is it to be 3/4 G type turf again for playing use, or a general surface just for walking about on? I went to Duxford last week and the surface around the kids play area was great! Rubber, maybe old tyres, could really feel the bounce! But it nice if it was still playable on , an historic site, it could tell some tales!

I'm not a construction worker either, but to be fair to them, there's been quite a bit of remodelling going on at ground level, for example to toilets and the staircase enclosures to the upper tier.

This is a multi million pound construction contract, not Joe Bloggs coming round to paint your front room. Of course they haven’t.

Underneath definitely needs shelving up for food and drinks to be put rather than having to put on the floor ……where’s Bob the builder when you need him .

I can confirm that a majority of the works taken place over these past months can’t actually been seen. The foundation works for the yet to be constructed new top tier has now been completed….and on time.

Really? Don’t get me wrong, that would be an exciting development. But I haven’t seen any sign of necessary footings or groundwork that would provide the basis for a new upper tier. Where are you thinking this additional structures/installation are situated? Thanks.

Very handy excuse that from builders. Surely should have been found in the original planning?
