Not necessarily, but it also needs to be a forward pass. A team sits in defensive mode with two banks of four in midfield and defence. A pass that gets in behind either of those banks is line breaking. Basically, it means getting in behind the opposition’s defensive line wherever that is on the pitch. |  |

Hey BB - as stated a few times, last season in the Bundesliga he was injured with an abductor issue picked up in the second game of the Leverkeusen campaign against Frankfurt. He then missed 15 league games - which is a lot.
Then took another 3 as a sub to get back to fitness.
Starting then dropping to the bench again.
He didn't really fully return till 21st March against Wolfsburg, and then played 7 straight games to the end of the season.
Don't think other clubs, or bigger clubs, wanted to take a gamble.
We did and its worked.
I don;t think you can play 7 straight at that level unless you're fit. |  |

In terms of 'player trading' this is as good as it could get for us. Great recruitment.
I would expect him to transfer for 60m+ in the summer if he stays fit, we stay up and he keeps up the performances for the rest of the season.
The scary thing is he is just finding his feet and getting better every game, who knows how good he will be by end of season.

The figures suggest it is easier to make such a pass from centre back or central midfield, and that it gets more difficult the narrower you are (full back) or the more forward you are. [Post edited 4 Nov 9:07]
