I've bought a load of new pots. They are quite tall and the plants (mainly bedding but possibly the odd perennial) will not need anything quite so tall so I am going to fill 50% with a filler - broken pots etc.
Now here's the thing. I've just noticed that the pots don't have any drain holes in them, do I need to drill some holes or will they be ok as they are bearing in mind the plants won't be rooted at the bottom. |  |

i would always add drainage. whilst your filling them over time it will settlee, so its best to have the drainage at the bottom. |  |
