Any Cobbold standers on here... 20:32 - Jul 5 with 13267 views | judespiveyg | irritated by the letter sent to us today? I can see the logic behind it, but are Birmingham expecting to bring 3000 fans, would it have been all ticket? My Grandad struggles enough with the Cobbold stand steps, I don't want to have to be moved high up somewhere.

Understand the point of view of trying to maximise income but these are some of the most expensive season tickets in the league let alone stadium and as you mention many long termers and some less able fans.

Right, I am level with penalty area at SBR end so not me. If they are looking at moving people for the Birmingham game I imagine it will be quite a regular thing.

Quite possible it's the result of the away ticket reciprocal agreement. Maybe we've agreed £25 for Brum and are expecting more away fans as a result - and we can expect £25 tickets at St Andrews? Sounds good, albeit a pain for those in affected seats in the Cobbold stand.

Any Cobbold standers on here... on 21:32 - Jul 5 with 9204 views | Tendring_Blue | I'm all for getting as many Away fans in, it livens it up and wakes our lot up. I do think however if this is going to be a regular thing they should do what Birmingham do in their away end. Don not sell season tickets for any of the seats but when the away following is small, open the block up for home fans. Would be sparse but gets around this problem. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Any Cobbold standers on here... on 22:20 - Jul 5 with 9023 views | xrayspecs | Is this Block E and T (lower tier) or does this include Block D - the old Directors box? Have noticed the former can not be bought for STs this season, am presuming you could renew. Looks like a plan to extend away allocations, which at this time makes sense, even if it creates some disruption.

My mate (leeds fan) does work at most stadiums in the country so usually has a decent insight on things like this. He was at Portman Road the other day and said that the club were looking at ways of accommodating more away fans.

They sent a letter at the end of last season to all Cobbold season ticket holders, including those in D block. Offered D block opportunity to 'vote' if they would stay if they did extend away fans allocation or move for those games. Idea was to go almost right up to C block, right behind the so called posh seats apparently for the larger away followings
Any Cobbold standers on here... on 22:37 - Jul 5 with 8959 views | DinnernotTea | Just hope they don't sell more to scum fans. a) I hate the sight of them b) 2,000 of them is top many as it is c) seeing them gloat yards away as they extend their unbeaten run will be horrible d) ban them from Portman Road

Blimey, must be around 4000 allocation. We have plenty of space, so why not, if we can find good homes for our resident fans.

It's not a permanent move, the letter said at the moment Brum and Scum would be the games were moved. That's what baffles me, are Brum going to bring more than any other team?

Maybe for now, would imagine Villa and Leeds would ask for bigger allocations too. Possibly Sunderland.

With the Redknapp revolution in full swing, quite possibly, yes.

Did not check when we were playing them. Midweek games are unlikely to bring sizeable followings.
Any Cobbold standers on here... on 06:58 - Jul 6 with 8590 views | Pinewoodblue | Suppose if you can't fill the stadium with home fans it is OK (not) to sell more seats for less to away fans. They really need to find a way to move cameras to the Cobbold stand seeing so many away fans on screen makes us look like a small club.
