Gavin Johnson scored the diving header to level up the cup replay.

Happy FA Cup memories. Remember those?
If we had lost to Hartlepool or Bournemouth in rounds 3 or 4, we'd have saved ourselves the expense of a replay trip to Liverpool and avoided that defeat altogether.
We'd also have been able to concentrate on getting out of the 2nd Division.

Was at Anfield that night. Remember walking out afterwards with a massive grin across my face. We had lost, but had had a brilliant night, 25 years on, it is still a greatmemory.
A few of us had a couple of swift pints in a pub behind the away end with some home fans. Good company, generous and funny.
Fair to say that the competition meant more to all teams at that stage, that was a pretty much full strength liverpool side.

I remember watching that on TV at a house somewhere in Northampton when I was 16. I can't remember why I was there or whose house I was at but I remember the match very well.
I don't really care that Mick is better than Keane and Jewell because it's a pretty rubbish yardstick anyway. I just miss good football and memorable games like that.
Gavins goal must be up there in the top 10 of Ipswich goals.
What a night apart from the result only bettered by beating Blackburn away in extra time at Ewood
Really? You haven’t seen many goals then.
I remember that night like it was yesterday. I was 16, pissed as a fart and on the Haverhill supporters coach which got back at 3am. Drank five pints of stolen doorstep milk and half a loaf trying to sober up for the 15 mile walk home.
I was right in line with Gavin's header. I have no idea what it was about that goal that made it so special, but it really was a magical moment. It went nuts in the Anfield Road end. 7,000 Town fans on a Wed night in Liverpool. Absolutely mental scenes. One of my favourite football moments ever.
When the FA cup meant something to this once great club
You should have stopped after the word something.
It's not just an Ipswich thing.

It's one of those goals that seemed to happen in slow motion... but not slow enough for Grobbelaar.
We were superb that night. One of my favourite ITFC matches that and Johnson's goal especially is a stand out memory from my younger days following Town.
It also reminded me of Graeme Sharp's winner in the 80s when the Proclaimer look alike Everton fan with a rolled up programme in his coat pocket ran on the pitch.

Was bursting with pride, despite ultimately losing. Went to the game with a couple of Liverpool supporting mates, they took me to a pub near Anfield afterwards, the locals were very impressed with our team that night.
We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub.
