So what’s your view on Lankester?

Starter? Regular off the bench? Still needs work in u23s or loan?

I’m thinking a regular off the bench at the moment. Little easier when the game is stretched for him. Guess there’s a chance he’ll start on Saturday with 3 games in a week. Encouraging he’s in and around the team though.

Not far from getting a start as had done very well but for now 20 mins from the bench as an impact sub if required.

A loan would probably be great for him but at the moment we aren't in a position to be shipping out players who can potentially help us survive so I'd have him as a wildcard on the bench

Start a few games here and there, maybe ones we are more hopeful of winning - and then a bench option otherwise as seems to make an impact.

Very much in and around the first team, definitely not out on loan

Keep him in and around the first team. The 2/3 sub appearances I've seen of him he's looked lively. I'd start him tonight.

If I was Edwards I would be a little concerned for my place as Lankester is only 1 or 2 more good performances from starting and may even start tonight and if he does deserves it.

He's young and raw, but let's not forget he's 19 soon so he's not a baby. He's looked sharp for the youths and also in the rare opportunities he's had to impress in the 1st XI. He could be a real crowd lifter off the bench, as well as something of a secret jewel so I think he's perfectly suited to a sub role now, particularly until Jan when he might find himself with more competition.

Maybe...

...how depressing.

Even more depressing will be if he makes it to Citeh's first team, people will refer to him as an 'academy product'!!

This.

I saw him play in a pre-season friendly and he, along with Cotter (whatever happened to him?) were the stand-out players.

Better than Conor Wickham or Jordan Rhodes at the same age.

Definitely a regular off the bench but starting one game in those not-so-fun three game weeks.

He's looked good and sharp, the run he made across the back line on Friday night before getting pushed over was smart.

Class act in Ressies, him, Rowe and El Mizouni have been fantastic every game i have watched. Great coming in off the right wing and angling a left footer into one of the corners.
