People of twtd inspire me 15:51 - Apr 3 with 7858 views | Bluefish | It is my big 4-0 next year so I need somewhere to go with the missus to mark the occasion. We did NYC for hers last year and loved it. Looking at 4-5 nights

People of twtd inspire me on 16:14 - Apr 3 with 1904 views | GeoffSentence | Bath My favourite UK city. Lovely place, loads of places of interest, good pubs, really good restaurants. Then there's the roman baths, the spa, all sorts of different museums, wonderful architecture, the countryside nearby is gorgeous too. Do Bath.

People of twtd inspire me on 16:19 - Apr 3 with 1888 views | itfcjoe | What about San Francisco so you can do East Coast foe hers and West for yours - lots to do there. If that is a bit far for 4-5 nights maybe a straight flight down to Cape Town for Table Mountain, Robben Island et as no time difference/jet lag to worry about.

I have to admit that Corsica does sound nice, that mixture of French and Italian culture should be wonderful. I intend to go there myself sometime. But for a short break, you can't beat Bath. It's lovely.

Good shout that Geoff. Wonderful city. I've got family in Bath and love visiting, as you say there's lots to do there and some fantastic places to eat and drink. Start the day on the rooftop at the spa, in the open air pool looking out over the city for a couple of hours, come out feeling as fresh as a daisy and take a nice stroll by the river, through the park, around it's cobbled streets. Nice pub lunch somewhere and few afternoon beers. That's a little bit of me.

Bath is nice, but his Wife went to NYC, so I expect he is looking for something a bit better. Corsica is lovely and only an hour and half away.

I went for the first time as an adult a couple of weeks ago and was completely won over. Almost completely won over, it does have one dirty little secret. Rugger Bwggers. Keep out of their way though and it really is wonderful. I was tempted to move there, I work from home and can be anywhere, Bath would be closer to the office and my boss, but the house prices put me off.

Only an hour and a half on the plane, but you have all the hassle of getting to the airport, through the airport and out again at the other end. That's at least half a day wasted at each end and a good dose of hassle thrown in as well. You don't need that for a short break,

Could be in Corsica almost as quickly as driving to Bath. If it rains, there ain't a lot to do in Bath, whereas in Corsica you will never be bored, regardless of the weather. Go to Corsica, you will love it.

If it rains there isn't a lot to do in Bath!!!!! I do beg your pardon. There's heaps of stuff to do out of the rain in Bath. I'm not saying Corsica is a bad shout. In fact, I reckon it's a pretty good one. Just saying that for all the airport hassle, just for a few days, you'd be better off in Bath.

The traffic in Bath and the house prices are some of the worst outside London. Bath is nice, but there are better places to visit.
