Maybe he is just snubbing Channel Four? He is going to be in the BBC debate next Tuesday:

Would be interesting to see him interviewed by Krishnan Gurumuthy though:

To be honest, I think these TV debates are rubbish.

But Boris is a bottler, it's what he does.

Doesn't bode well for negotiations.

I struggle to understand this debate.

Its not a public vote. We have no say in any of this. What was the motivation for people putting the idea forward?

I think the reason is;

the Americans do it, so we have to do it.

Driven by TV producers, and it's a load of old sh1te that's not needed.

Be fair, Channel 4 cater to all sorts of weird minority interests, why not something that's only of value to less than the 200,000 who, in the face of the, still appear to think that the Conservative party is enough of think worth having they've hoined it?

I think it may be more about several contenders thinking it is their chance to make Boris look silly.

Talking of tv debates, with big viewing audiences across the country it's funny how the one on ITV re the referendum has all been suddenly forgotten and replaced by "you didn't know what you were voting for"....hmmm, it was pretty much spelt out during this debate what people were voting for..

Anyway, we don't want a ten pager...:)

He staying out of the way so he doesn't b"gger it up.

If the parliamentary Tory party have decided he is the chosen one then I wouldn't put it past them to ensure the other candidate is one of the weaker ones. When the vote goes out to the provinces they will have no choice but to pick Boris.

If it is him I'm not convinced he will sort out Brexit anyway.

He's a serial bungler with ambitions that far exceed his abilities. There's no way in hell he's sorting out Brexit.

Pronouns: He/Him/His. "Imagine being a heterosexual white male in Britain at this moment. How bad is that. Everything you say is racist, everything you say is homophobic. The Woke community have really f****d this country."

It’s not that surprising. He’s the front runner so he can only lose by engaging in debate. He’s also an utter loose canon liability unless it’s scripted or he’s being ‘funny loveable Boris’ so no gain for him. I wonder what his version of ‘fake news’ will be. Disingenuous quasi journalism?

The vote is a private matter for conservative members of parliament the outcome will affect us all but the last thing we need is seven whose appealing for our support, which we cannot give anyway.

I can imagine his advisers saying don't worry Boris we will decline the invitation and claim left wing bias. It's clever really. It could get him even more votes with his base and he gets out of attending.

TBF, the interviwees are all on the right wing. Surely even if they are asked questions of a left wing bias - although this a bit vague - its how those that have put themselves forward cope and deal with those questions. Much sterner issues will arise for the winner to deal with than a Channel 4 journalist. It may not be something for the general public to vote on but it is of deep interest and of major consequence to us all what the winner believes and will do.

A bottler is a bottler from whatever party they come from and doesn't bode well if they are afraid of putting themselves under scrutiny especially at this juncture in our history. I very much doubt that Thatcher would have bottled it.

Sorry jitters, I've just tagged my rant onto your post.

As has been said this is a total waste of air time! Unless you are a member of the Conservative party we have no input in this vote at all.
