Can you name a bigger one than the Marcus Evan's tenure at Ipswich town?

Looking at it from a football basis....

SISU at Coventry.
Oystons at Blackpool.
The various owners at Portsmouth.
Whistle being blown at Luton.

There's four off the top of my head.

Edit; You can also add Macclesfield, Bury and Bolton to that list, and Oldham I guess as well.

You have put me in the strange position of supporting the wayward postings of Fergal over your usually sure footed ones but the proviso of loss of human life was stated. Have we forgotten Jo Cox already?

Sissu at Coventry. Been an utter disaster. My Mrs comes from Cov, and supports them, so have taken an interest for a lot of years now. Shame to say it though, they have a much better team and manager than Town

Yep. Notts County must have gone a bit belly up too, although I don't know the details. They had a very vocal owner/consortium for a while, splashing the cash they didn't have.

We don't have that with Marcus. He's not doing anything underhand (that we're aware of!, although I'm pretty sure he isn't). And he's pumping in eye watering amounts of money. He just not very good, sadly. Or you could argue he's unlucky I suppose, if you wanted to be extremely charitable.

You missed the Scandinavians at Charlton.

Although the real answer is every other team which has ever gone from chasing promotion in one division to chasing promotion in the next one down over the course of a decade. Which is a lot of teams.

I seem to remember Man City being somewhere similar to us, not so long ago. What goes around, comes around.

Wasn't it Belgians at Charlton?

But yes, they're another one.

ME is not a crook.... just incompetent. There is a difference.

The problem with the "it could be worse, we could be XXX" argument is it's got to the point where we are that club others say that about now.

"It could be worse, we could be Ipswich. 20 years outside the top flight, no budget to compete, an owner who won't invest and doesn't seem to care, currently stuck in the 3rd tier."

We'll be in the Conference before our fan base wakes up and stops saying "Well Evans kept the club afloat 12 years ago." I think we stopped being afloat this season when we failed to go back up first try (which let's be honest, it will be a miracle we make the POs now. We're f*cked.

I did and am, but a traffic jam just outside innsbruck airport I was sat in my hire car so sent the above , a state of boredom caused the wandering of my thoughts.
Anyway back in cornwall now and feeling better.

Again, Fergal's proviso 'involving loss of human life' comes into play, the move of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem alone cost fifty eight lives:

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/14/israel-tells-palestinians-they-are

Expecting another down vote like the one I got for pointing out that Brexit has involved the loss of life of Jo Cox from 26_Paz now, the wording is 'involved' not 'caused' so do not assume I am levelling direct responsibility at either Brexit or Trump...but I might just consider a charge of carelessness...
