Anybody else always try to ride between the 'S' and the 'L' when crossing a 'SLOW' sign painted on the road, or am I the only weirdo here?

EDIT: I realise the two conditions are not mutually exclusive.

In Cambridge most cyclists seem to enjoy going the wrong way up one way streets and cycling in the dark with no lights.

Oh and as with cyclists everywhere they are all green and red colour blind

Write another football blog.

This edgy trolling thing you're attempting isn't really working.

Pronouns: He/Him/His. "Imagine being a heterosexual white male in Britain at this moment. How bad is that. Everything you say is racist, everything you say is homophobic. The Woke community have really f****d this country."

Yep, always between the S and the L for me. Best to avoid the letters - they can be slippy in the wet and lead to a tumble.

Another tip - if 'M075' is painted on the road ahead, you're going the wrong way.

71 miler for me today, my longest ride yet. Cant say I was doing much more than counting the miles down tbh.

Well done! How's the posterior?

Not too bad tbf. Few rides ago, I moved my seat back a tad and angled the seat slighty pointing down. Bum bones sit nicely on the seat now and have only minimal discomfort.

Kept the original seat too, think it is important to get the seat position right :-)

Yep, get the seat right and you can get everything else sorted more easily! Can't remember if you said you'd got the cleats yet, they would certainly trigger a seat position check..

As well as the seat position the handlebar position can make a big difference to riding comfort - might be worth checking that your revised seat position is in line with the optimal comfort position with a quick you tube?

As I said when you were thinking of buying a bike..... a good pair of shorts might be a better investment than the bike itself.... in those far off days when I did 100 mile sportifs I used to wear padded pants inside padded shorts - it made a huge difference.

Don't get too wedded to mileage would be a good tip too.... not sure where you live and what's possible but round here there are hugely challenging short routes which require far more puff to get round than the longer distance flat(ish) cruises I usually opt for nowadays.

Thanks for this, I found myself targeting every SL on my 60k ride this morning. Something I have never bothered about has become an obsession!
As another cyclism, why is the worst road surface always in the shade under a tree?

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

I bought pedals, cleats and shoes online, but the shoes were too small. So figured I'd wait til the shops were open for browsing (and try some one) - so will wait a couple of days and head to a bike shop end of next week.

Am quite adept at the straps now tbf, took a little while but you do get the hang of them.

Cycled over the border into Wales today and cycled between the A and R for a change.
