i'd go with this although i'd like too think we wouldn't need 2 central defenders on the bench i'd be inclined to stick maybe Simpson or Judge on the bench instead.

I'd go with this:

Holy
Chambers - Wilson - Woolfenden - Ward
Bishop - Dozzell - McGavin
Lankester - Sears - Edwards

Subs: Cornell, McGuinness, Dobra, Kenlock, Hawkins, Bennetts, Huws

I think he’ll only change one cb.
Wondering if Bennetts could play in the 3 with Dozzell and Bishop. I actually want Huws to play but concerned he’s been as off the pace as Nolan was last match.

We should try playing with 11

Holy
Chambers - Woolfenden - Wilson - Kenlock
Dozzell - Huws - Bishop
Sears - Hawkins - Edwards

Substitutes: Cornell, Ward, McGuiness, McGavin, Judge, Dobra, Lankester

If Holy looks dodgy again then Cornell deserves to start against Crewe.

I don’t think Ward will be ready to play three games in a week, and the same goes for Lankester. This should be our easiest match of the three due to their injury crisis, which is worse than ours by the looks of it, so give them a break before Saturday.

I’m going with reverting to the front three which performed ok again the weaker sides at the start of the season; Bennetts has done little to prove himself as deserving a start from his cameos (unlike Lankester, for example). I’ve gone for Dobra on the bench over him as he has some form against Gillingham this season and earned a chance. Judge over Bennetts too only because he offers some experience in the middle which we’d otherwise be lacking as an option; that’s if he is fit, of course.

Huws is picked as we have very little in way of options though if he fails us again then McGavin deserves a run out.

Agree and mentioned this yesterday. We need more dynamism in that midfield 3 than Huws offers these days. Dobra could play in there too.

Wilson deserves to keep his place but otherwise that would work.

Long term goal of playing out from the back, from what I’ve seen McGuinness is a lot more comfortable, needs game time. Wilson would be fine tonight, but will get found out when we step up in class!

Something like that.

Maybe keep Wilson in for the time being and let Wolfie get up to speed before trying McGuinness and Wolf.

I'd also see if Lankester can get a run. Can Bennetts play on the left? Maybe a sub for either Lankester or Edwards, or even start ahead of Edwards.

It's tempting to groan at Huws and say start someone else, but he feels like the sensible option as a more experienced and physical bod in midfield. Fook we are missing Downes, and Skuse to some extent. Nolan is no loss, unfortunately. I would love him to come good but he just goes into his shell far too easily when we play anyone half alright. It's worrying for him.

He probably will, but I don't think we should change both centre-backs at once (while bringing one in who's never played a senior game). Woolfenden tonight definitely but that'll do for now.

Possibly right actually. Would pencil McGuinness in for Shrewsbury after the Sunderland defeat.

Long-term it has to be Woolfenden and Chambers (with McGuinness & Wilson pushing both of them hard) and KVY at right-back. If we can ever get KVY fit.

Judge is still injured, so presumably Huws is playing in the 'passenger' position.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Like others have said, I think we'll only see one CB changed, presumably Toto for Woolfenden.

Up top I think Sears will some back in over Bennetts, would like to see Bennetts start the game though.

Keep Toto in, gives me something to laugh at every time we play!!

I am not sure about Chambers returning to centre back, he looked vulnerable there last season
