If you like the smell of pine just buy air freshener of a similar fregrance.

Real trees are a pain and not worth the effort. From spending what seems like an eternity as your other half picks a tree and then getting in the car. And then sweeping up all of the mess every day. Awful things.

What someone needs to be doing is GMing the hell out of natural pines and making them completely needle-shed free.

And also engineering them to glow in the dark.

And maybe to grow themselves a star shaped bit at the top. Ok that's probably a bit much, but the rest isn't unreasonable.

We had a real one for a few years, but we had a puppy that tried to ‘help’ a bit too often, so we ended up getting a decent artificial one (with lights already on it!) which means we’re recycling it each year by getting it down out of the loft when required...
