I know there a few new music heads on here, what are the albums that have grabbed you most this year? This is my top 20, not in merit order, and it took a while to narrow down to that few.
If I had to pick one from this as number one it would be BC Camplight - Shortly After Take Off, a splendidly wonky indie pop. Great review of it here:
All Them Witches - Nothing as the Ideal Arbouretum - Let It All In Bdrmm - Bedroom BC Camplight - Shortly After Takeoff Bonny Light Horseman - Bonny Light Horseman Car Seat Headrest - Making a Door Less Open Deeper - Auto Pain Disq - Collector Death Valley Girls - Under The Spell of Joy Frankie and the Witch Fingers - Monsters Eating People Eating Monsters Ghostlawns - Motorik KULK - Here Lies Kulk The Left Outsides - Are you Sure I Was There LA Witch - Play With Fire The Nude Party - Midnight Manor Rose City Band - Summerlong STRFKR - Future Past Life Widowspeak - Plum Working Men's Club - Working Men's Club Waxahatchee - Saint Cloud

That Silverbacks album is great. Has my favourite lyric of the year - That wasn't Jesus, that was just some f@cker in a dressing gown.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.
Billy nomates- billy nomates Sqaurepusher - be up a hello Gil Scott heron and Malaya MacCraven - we’re new again Sault - untitled (x2) Bob Dylan - rough and rowdy ways Agnus Obel - myopia Holy Fvck - deleter Four tet - sixteen oceans Daniel Avery - love + light Run the jewels - RTJ4 Cabaret Voltaire - shadow of fear Olafur Arnalds - some kind of peace Porridge radio - every bad Baxter Dury - the night chances
Am going to throw in a mix album as well, Avalon Emerson’s DJ kicks compo helped me run my way through lockdown 2.
The only stand-out album for me this year is Point of No Return by Those Damn Crows. Great band who are brilliant live and managed to put out an album of absolute cracking tracks. Pity they didn't get to tour the album this year, but did manage to catch them in Bristol in February a couple of days after they released it and again at Planet Rock's Winter's End which turned out to be the last gig we went to prior to lockdown.

Have to be honest, I'm not a fan of tdc at all, but that's the joy of music for me - what one person loves another hates!

Blimey I'm out of touch...I recognise no names so far on this thread other than Dylan, Swift and McCartney. I'm sure you'll all be thrilled to hear my choice is Springsteen's Letter To You....

Do I get an assist for SLIFT?
Just missed out on my list that one, but easily wins the best vinyl package for the year!

It was nearly on my list, if that helps. Vintage Bruce. A real return to form after a rather weak offering last year.

Didn't realise The Nude Party had released a new album! I'll have to give it a listen later. Their self titled album is a banger!
