Mick Mills saying what I said six weeks ago 14:59 - Apr 24 with 887 views | GlasgowBlue | Should have lined Cook up for the summer and given the job to Gill for the rest of this season. Unnecessary disruption.

I'm talking about when we did sack Lambert. Not when we should have done.

Mick Mills saying what I said six weeks ago on 15:03 - Apr 24 with 826 views | J2BLUE | In Evans' defence did he really have the option? In hindsight it's an easy thing to say but in real time if he had announced Cook in the summer we'd all have said we're so close to the play offs, what is he doing? Bring him in now. If he hadn't have announced Cook in the summer and given it to Gill there would have been carnage as fans believed we'd put the decision off when both Cowleys and Cook were available. Not sure it was a genuine option.

Mick Mills saying what I said six weeks ago on 15:03 - Apr 24 with 823 views | WD19 | The timing was crap, it should have been December. ....but how exactly would Cook have evaluated this squad from the shadows if we had waited? At least he now knows what he is dealing with.
Mick Mills saying what I said six weeks ago on 15:04 - Apr 24 with 817 views | Churchman | Agreed. But there’s a touch of the gift of hindsights about that. If they’d have waited and results went more or less as they have, people would be asking why he wasn’t brought in earlier. Or throwing their toys out because he’d gone elsewhere along with Cowley, Bowyer and just about anybody else apart from the summer sackings.

It would have been hindsight if I wasn't saying it at the time he was appointed.

It's easy to say it wasn't hindsight, as you said it at the time, in hindsight though...

Cook was available in November, when when we were in touch but drifting and Cook would have had a transfer window to effect some changes without resorting to the nuclear option of 'all the players are crap, I'm betting the house on the summer window'.

Well obviously but I was sticking to GB's timeline.

We should have stuck to MY timeline and sacked Lambert in March 2019.

Mick Mills saying what I said six weeks ago on 15:18 - Apr 24 with 657 views | LankHenners | If we’d have continued as we were and just missed out then people would’ve said Cook should’ve come in to give us a boost. Plus it gives him time to assess the squad properly so can crack on with reshaping it as soon as the season ends. The games under Gill (officially and unofficially) are massively overplayed by some - we were crap against Doncaster and Accrington and fortunate to win both of them. Hull away was the one decent performance, plus a 2nd half against Lincoln who shot themselves in the foot by sitting back too much.
