Had my first moderna jab yesterday.

Bit of a throb in my arm, but otherwise no side effects to speak of.

Which is nice.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Pfizer #1 this morning, so far all looking good. Plus I didn’t faint despite being an absolute wuss when it comes to needles, so that’s a bonus!

Highlighting crass stupidity since sometime around 2010

The needles are much thinner than they used to be, some of the vaccinations we used to get in the 60s and 70s felt like being jabbed with pointy scaffolding poles...

Had my second Pfizer yesterday. Barely any reaction to it, but then I am hard as nails innit.

Like all medicines vaccines can cause side-effects. Symptoms to look out for over the next few days:

Bouts of extreme smugness.
Sense of superiority over anyone who hasn't had a vaccine.
Absurd curiosity over whether your friends have had AstraZeneca or Pfizer.
A need to tell everyone how short the queue was and how smashing all the volunteers were.
Compelling desire to take a photo of your jab and post it on social media.(Do people do this?!).
Misguided feeling of immortality.
Failure to understand why you still can't go on a foreign holiday.
Ability to annoy the hell out of 20 year olds by asking when they're going to have theirs, if they haven't run out.

Private Eye.

To be fair the queues WERE short and the volunteers WERE smashing but of course you wouldn't know that having not had both doses. Do you want to see a picture of my vaccine before I book my holiday now i'm bulletproof.

Speaking as someone whose hairline is moving back faster than I would like, that would be a welcome, if unexpected, side effect.

As for the other one, I'm not sure that would be helpful right now.

I'm double vaccinated and so's my wife!

Vaxed 09:15 this morning.

As with 1st round I felt / feel nothing (yet), but the wife fell a bit unwell, enough to worry the medical stuff. A lie down and some chilled water later all well.

Almost opening time....

I remember the BCG one going in, now that did hurt. It was also at an age when punching people on the arm was incredibly funny to a lot of people.

You definitely knew you had been vaccinated back then.

Big round circles on your arm for one, lumps for others, always in a certain spot...

You didn't need written confirmation, you just had to glance up and down your arm to see which ones you'd had!

I had my Pfizer yesterday. Sore arm, but that’s it. I feel happier. Whole family now done in the important age groups.

Funnily enough I was talking with a colleague about that, didn't we all have that pinprick on the wrist to see if we needed the injection or not? I'm sure there were about 3 who didn't have to have it in the whole year group.

Yes we did,a week before the jab ? I think they were called heath tests (sp?) ...I remember being desperate to be one f the lucky ones as I was so phobic with injections....millions of them later in all kinds of places for all kinds of reasons...and no not beef injections....i have no such concerns about jabs.
