With all our new backroom staff and fitness performance bloke, I would like to think we can keep him fit. Give him another season before giving up on him.

It's not about him being fit, he played in most of our matches last season.

He's naff, simple as that. Sad but true.

I'd keep him.
But the other thing of note - Paul Digby is only 26! Was he 12 when he played for us?!

We re trying to build a promotion winning and then championship staying team. And people are wandering why we are letting players like bishop go
Even with his highlight footage. The best he can get is cambridge?? Surely shows PC is right to let go if an offer is made..

So far and of course a while to go.. but no player has signed for a stronger side than town...

By 'stronger side' you must mean 'bigger club'. Town are currently without a side.

Dobra. Dozzell. Downes.

The only players who may sign for a side in league above.

And that's IF they dont stay.

Indeed, Bishop is 25 now and like you say no longer a kid. This season he played in the majority of league matches, so fitness is no longer an issue.

The fact that newly promoted Cambridge are the first team linked speaks volumes. He isn't good enough for an aspiring championship team.

Just an observation but most of our players seem to be connected to local clubs just now, Cambridge and Colchester. Inevitable in a way but it does suggest criticism of our players being in a comfort zone with limited ambition may not be that wide of the mark.

Players coming to the end of their careers have often stayed in the district. Few Town fans would call Micky Stockwell
a player 'of limited ambition', and he went on to play 130 or so games for Colchester. Houlihan was outstanding for Cambridge last season, and presumably signed for them only because he likes living in E.Anglia.

The younger players haven't been linked with Colchester, and isn't Bishop the first to be linked to Cambridge? Wilson didn't hang about, and went to Plymouth.

To many fans the only recent signing that's been a success, or at least has the potential to be a success, is KVY, the one who didn't have to move house to join the club.

(I know I'm in the minority, but I feel sorry for any player who uprooted to come to east Anglia and was then met by Covid, with no chance to socialise with their team-mates outside training, and with no friends or family in the district. The fact that the squad was WAY too big must have made many players feel a long way off the first team too, and I'm not surprised if some found it hard to keep their spirits up.)

Isn't it more than the lower down we go, the less likely it is that the sums of money on offer at one club or another would merit upping sticks for?

If you live in Suffolk how much more money would you need to be offered by Plymouth to choose them over Cambridge?

Give him a good pre season with hopefully better players around him and then judge him. I am not saying he is a world beater, but must be worth keeping hold of for another season.

Same could be said for all the current squad. There has to come a time you say thanks but it's time to move on.

Also.. unless someone pays hes staying anyway. So we maybe stuck with him.

I think of all our squad, Bish and KVY would be the only ones I would definitely keep. Think Bishop in an advanced position would be an asset.

Think Bish would be quite fortunate to get a move like Cambridge in a way. Take out his good patch in the Autumn and his stats for last season are atrocious, no tackles, no interceptions, no key passes, no shots, no crosses, few touches per game, absolute passenger stuff.

He's basically dining out on that period when he broke into the team 5 years ago.

I know he's had his injuries, but even when fit he's not pushed on, and how long do we keep these type of players in the hope...

Caveat I'd say is, we were bad as a team and he's clearly got individual ability. If he goes to Cambridge I can well see him thriving and then moving up a league again.
