It seems to be a line people are using to reassure themselves. We could have announced signings by now had we made any. It is still relatively early days, but given the overhaul we're looking at we could do with getting some deals over the line soon. [Post edited 3 Jun 2021 9:39]

Well true, I believe you can pick up players that are out of contract between windows. |
You can also sign players, you just can't register them. Given we don't have any competetive games until August that isn't really a problem. Other sides have made signings already. | |

I don't think many clubs announce signings until the window officially opens, you can of course have an agreement in place "X will join us when his contract expires on 30th June". But I think its normal practice to wait. | |
