Sounds like a positive message here too:

Presumably this means they are all going pro? Surely she can't turn up and train by herself every day

If not all, then certainly implies there will be more to follow.

There are teams in the National League (Men) who are half and half I think, but i think your general point that she won't be alone must be right.

Does it have any effect on our turnover, or is it a seperate club in that aspect?

It probably makes the signing of Paul Pogba less likely.

I'm sure there will be more. Ipswich have a number of players who have been picked for the various young England teams over the past year or so. This is a serious sign of intent of trying keep hold of these players and to progress the team further.

Would this have happened under Evans? Far less likely I suspect. Another positive move by the Club.

Id be surprised if it was that amount. I'd guess £500 pw max.

It doesn't impact on t/o at all.

I guess the question is whether it impacts on club wage bill.

I suspect its entirely sperate.

£26k a year?!

Might as well work in waitrose for that!

Must be more.

She's 18, so it would be in excess of what she could expect to earn elsewhere.

I'd be surprised if it was more, especially when most at that level aren't even semi pro.

Ah, didn't see she was so young, maybe then.

Women's pay in football will increase dramatically in the the next few years, not saying they should be paid anywhere near what the men are (obviously), but about time they got rewarded better.

I'm sure it will, I suspect female Man City players are well rewarded and the rest of the WPL.

You mentioned £1k per week, I suspect that's generally what a first year pro in our men's team earns (some probably earn less).

EDIT: Apparently Steph Houghton earns £65k per year. So ours will be nowhere near that.

To be fair, I expected Houghton to be on more, but I expect it will increase as the TV, gate receipts and sponsorship money increased.

I suspect she has some good sponsorship deals.
