I don't think the fee is important, % sell-on is the thing here. Shame to see him go, would have been great if he could have made it here. SB

Yep, I predict low-ish fee and sizeable sell-on. It's a shame if/when this happens. Would have loved so much for Andre to become a legend here, and it will be bittersweet to see his career thrive elsewhere.

Dozzell to QPR, deal agreed... on 08:55 - Jun 11 with 4953 views | wkj | Will be sad to see him go, but his strengths are technical. L1 football is physical. Such a shame he had a horrible injury at a young age, I hope it doesn't haunt his career too badly.

Dozzell to QPR, deal agreed... on 08:58 - Jun 11 with 4894 views | Metal_Hacker | Quite a statement from the club selling "one of our own" but for both parties probably very much needed . Would have loved to see AD succeed here and enjoy success but seemingly not meant to be unfortunately Maybe right player , wrong time scenario ? I guess we'll never know unless he rips it up in the Championship but I've my reservations All the best to him and I hope he does himself and his Dad proud Now let's see some of our own in-comings after seeing two out of the door

Dozzell to QPR, deal agreed... on 09:01 - Jun 11 with 4799 views | Guthrum | Shame he didn't make it big here and that his progress was hampered by a major injury. But, equally, he wasn't flourishing at Town so him moving on might be for the best. Plus the funds raised could help the team to progress overall. Best wishes for the future, Andre.

I agree - you have to get able to hold your own and not be bullied at this level; Dozzell hasn’t got the stature and we need to get promoted next season. Right decision for him and us plus the Championship might be a better division for him.

Is L1 more physical than the Championship? I'd say the main difference between the divisions that in the higher one the players are faster and stronger...

I quite like the cut of Harper's jib in that deeper lying role from what I've seen of him. He can clearly play a bit, but he offers that physicality and screen that Dozzell doesn't for me. We relied a lot on Skuse for that, the amount of times he turned the ball over and did a lot of the donkey work that often goes unappreciated. Skuse did a good job, and we've seen the likes of N'Daw and to a lesser extent Diagouraga come in and add some physicality to the midfield, albeit the latter lacked mobility. As the Euros starts, with England looking likely to play a similar formation to Cook's preferred approach, where's our Declan Rice? Who is the L1 ITFC equivalent in our squad? I think Harper might prove to be that, and I look forward to seeing him getting his frame in between the opponent and the ball. I like AD, he's got a great range of passing and can beat a man, but I still question whether he was utilised correctly in our side. I would much rather see him operate further up the pitch with less defensive responsibilities. With a Harper next to him he could perhaps take the handbrake off, but we're not likely to see that, which is fair enough as we need to pay for RH somehow. Good luck to him, I hope it works out. One of those who might benefit from playing at a better standard, a bit less scrappy, better pitches, better players around him etc.

It’s still a more technical league, though, where talent can be rewarded. In the League One if you can’t stand out to the ankle biters you’ll struggle.

Dozzell to QPR, deal agreed... on 09:26 - Jun 11 with 4267 views | Ftnfwest | Wasn't handled well when he first broke into the first team squad unfortunately, but has never really seemed as if he would kick on since. Not what we need at the moment and probably one of those who particularly hasn't got the managers confidence. Think he could do ok for Rangers though.

That injury for AD was so unfortunate, Feels a lifetime ago now..... but think back to that day...... Dozzell, off the back of a Euro U19 victory, where he started every game and was playign a year up (5 in the squad were doing so including Reece James and Mason Mount)...... He comes back to pre season and is flying..... Mick McCarthy, who is Mr Pragmatic, starts Dozzell who has recently turned 18, in front of the back 4, and tells him to go and get the ball from the GK and CBs and make us tick..... There isn't a single player that McCarthy gave that responsibility to in his 5 years here, for even a single game - but yet he let Andre do that as an 18 year old on first day of the season. By the time he was back fit, Hurst was in charge, and it never really happened for him - Lambert could never get the midfield functioning with him in it as just never got that role right....now he's 22 and is seen as unfulfilled potential.....and is fighting for his career.

The lad's been crying out for some proper coaching, motivation and team structure about him for the last three years. If he hadn't suffered *that* injury he'd have been long gone already by now - either because he'd been able actually use his ability in a properly drilled and coached Mick team and been poached or ha definitively shown he wasn't up to it. Hurst and Lambert wasted three years of his career for him.

Fully confident with Ashton in the building, this will absolutely be the case. Enough cash in to cover the outlays for Burns and others potentially, but a large sell on - hopefully 20%-25% plus (rather than bulk standard 10%)

Agreed re Warburton and I’m glad he’s going to a club that I don’t mind! It will be interesting to read Clive Whittingham’s take on Andre in due course.

Looks like two different players there. Think the injury had more of an impact that what most of us probably realise. Appears very sharp and mobile in that video. These days he looks slow and lackadaisical on the ball. Hopefully the move will do him good.
