Salford in the championship before Ipswich 12:04 - Jun 28 with 1904 viewsgtsb1966

I don't think so some how. https://salfordcityfcfans.proboards.com/thread/3407/hladky

Pre Gamechanger then it was perfectly plausible to think Salford would be in the Championship before us.

Hopefully that has changed now, although I've no doubts both of us will be playing in the Championship within the next few years.

You can generally getting a slight understanding of where a player is at by doing some basic due diligence.

Nobody has said a bad word against Hladky, fans a gutted to see him leave, everything you read, it's praise - and that excites me.

Poll: Would love to know the opinions on here now of Lambert genuinely?

Salford is certainly going to be going up before they go down, but hopefully, we have well and truly found our rock bottom and will get back to where we belong.

People said the same for Fleetwood.

I wonder how long some of those have been Salford fans? Very high praise for the keeper though, looks like another good signing.

Poll: An interesting day for our politicians, but which one is worse?

But Fleetwood didn't have someone worth £2.5b backing them.

If Evans was still here in 5 years we would have been a league 2 side, I’m sure of it.

Yeah they would have got up before us.

I think Evans must have known that too. I know it isn't fashionable to side with Paul Lambert, but I bet you his comments about the club infrastructure were bang on - and I would be interested to hear his thoughts once the dust settles.

I am really impressed with what I'm seeing happening behind the scenes as it feels the support staff are being put into place with progress in mind rather than tiptoeing along with a minimally viable structure.

What we have to remember is that there is little reason for other supporters to take an interest, or have an interest, in the business / ownership side of our club. To them we are a fallen giant spinning around in mid-L1.

With that said I took a glance over at Sheff Wednesday and they are not so positive about Penney.. that said If you go back further they say much more complimentary stuff.. he’s never really had a chance there by all accounts. From what I gather he’s a wing back who’s got a lovely left foot. Defending and careless in possession were his critics . Given what’s happening at that club similar to here in many aspects they are not too disappointed to see him go.

Cookie won't deliberately be after a dud. Having said that, with the number of players coming there will bound to be one or two who don't work out as we hope. We haven't a clue yet who that might be.

Feel like there's a pretty hard League 1 ceiling for clubs with Fleetwood and Salford's fanbase?

Like Marcus Evans, I get the feeling that Peter Lim's actual disposable income for football is pretty limited. He's just a shareholder at Salford, but even as full owner of Valencia he's never made much of an investment splash.

Time will tell on all the players. Seems like the lad needs to play regular football and if the truth be known this position is possibly one where we won’t push the boat out wages wise. It’s an upgrade to MK and anything more will be a huge bonus.

They have a lot of football knowledgeable people behind them, probably not as much money as us, but we've all said it doesn't take millions to get into the Championship just good football knowledge

We would have been a National League side in 5 years if Evans was still here. Not League Two just a National League one.

Yet some people would have kept 'thanking' him in 5 years time.

Sounds like a few similarities to Luke Garbutt there.
