Love to see him back. Exciting player.

To my mind, the obstacle isn't the selling club or the fee, it's that surely his wages would be an issue.

He must be on decent money and I would have thought would have to take a pay cut to come to us.

Not many 26 year olds are going to do that.

Would be absolutely stunned if we managed to get him back at Town.

I susect there's a clause in his contract that lowers his wages now he's relegated. Still, I suspect he will be on very good money.

I don't think we would be showing an interest without doing our homework first.

I see the biggest problem being other suitors......

There's absolutely no way this deal gets done;
*Other clubs incl. Swansea? Would surely be interested
*His wages
*Our status

No way.

When I read the article headline I misread as Civelli, which I think a hundred times more likely.

Football can be a funny old game, but not that far.

I’d be very surprised if Swansea came back in for him. Cooper’s still in charge and didn’t seem to rate him. Other Championship clubs though are bound to be interested.

It would be 2 Albanians covering the same position, him and Dobra.

Albanians and Kosovans are the same people, ethnic Albanians.

Ethnically yes but that's similar to saying that Ukrainian's and Russian's are the same people and I'm not sure all Ukrainian's would agree with you.

Nationality is different to ethnicity in a number of ways.

Loan deal seems quite possible to me. He got a 4-yr deal last year off a £2.7m transfer fee so Dijon will want to loan him out for a year to get wages off their books, knowing that his transfer value is still relatively intact. Yes there might be other suitors, but he clearly enjoyed his time here so might want to come back and be part of the rebuild. I guess we’ll find out soon enough!

Big stumbling block is the fact championship sides are after him too, so no, not happening.

I guess, but the link is so deep that they have been seeking unification of the two countries for a very long time at this point. The overwhelming majority of Kosovans also consider themselves Albanians first and foremost. Kosovo has different ethnicities but it is something like 90-95% ethnic Albanians. Same language, same history, same makeup. It's also why famous ones like Xhaka, Dua Lipa, Rita Ora etc. always do the flag symbol.

Edit: regardless, I thought it was pretty interesting. I believe Kuqi was also ethnically Albanian.

Suspect he had a payoff from Swansea to drop wages to go to Dijon, and then a further relegation wage cut.

I suspect he is keen to come back to England, and a deal with Dijon isn’t so much of an issue; they will be keen to offload after relegation.

Issue is Celinas wage aspirations and interested Championship teams versus knowing he can come back to itfc as the star man.

That's like saying Robertson and Trent are Liverpool's English fullbacks.

It's not because Kosovan isn't actually an ethnicity. They are Albanians from Kosovo, i.e. Kosovo Albanians.

He is, Dobra also qualifies for Kosovo. I've a Kosovan friend who has also referred to himself as Albanian.
