To be fair to her, she's been one of the better ones we've had in recent years. The last decent one before her was Sir John Stevens.

So, none of these a barrier to being head of the Met:

- Jean Charles de Menezes (albeit she was only in charge of the operation that day;
- obstruction of the Daniel Morgan enquiry;
- the overly aggressive policing of the Sarah Everard vigil;

I'm sure I've missed an important one too but so much for accountability.

'she was only in charge of the operation that day' and that, in itself, is surely more than enough for her not to be in the role?

Let alone anything else?

Accountability - it's gone hasn't it?

A slight piece of facetiousness, that failure alone should have barred here from any senior role. Instead she got promoted.

Ticking the boxes.

She's prone to appalling cock-ups, apparently keen on cracking down on women and minorities and utterly impervious to accountability so she's totally on-point for the current administration.

Ah yes, dragging women away from a protest to mark the - alleged - murder of a woman by a serving police officer. Admittedly Pritti Patel was also responsible for that but it was not responsible policing.

Ah yes, those same women that were told the protest was not authorised the day before. Those same women that still decided to rock up anyway and then cause a massive fuss and were so indignant when they were told they would have to leave the area as police were also trying to protect the public in the midst of a global pandemic. They were only arrested and taken away as a last resort having been asked and then warned countless times, don’t take my word for it, there’s plenty of YouTube videos showing this.

Are you suggesting that the heavy handed policing was aimed at preventing the spread of a highly infectious virus?

They could easily have prevented the gathering. Instead they waited until any transmission would already have happened before attacking women and potentially spreading the virus even further.

I’m not full on ACAB but that institution is utterly rotten.

Are you seriously suggesting that was heavy handed policing? An encounter with an officer will always be dictated by the person he/she is dealing with. I mean if the individuals that were asked to leave had just left then that would have been where it ended. Anyway I’m done on this now, there’s no reasoning with stupid. I know it’s my own fault for making a comment on here to start with though.
