Against a midfield that doesn't stick too many tackles in he could give us some big problems.

One of cooks mistakes has perhaps been the scale of squad change

19 new players is huge and unprecedented

I’ve mentioned it a few times on here - when non-Ipswich mates or work colleagues ask me about our bad start, when I reference the 19 new players, they simply can’t believe it, and see it as an impossible task to pull off their integration

When I look at the players we had though, there are a few we could have brought forward to integrate players around. Wilson, KVY, Wolfenden, Downes, Bishop and Norwood are about it though.

Bishop as he has stated does not fit cooks system, and in a way a move away from Bishop was a positive for him, his injuries, his form had stagnated

I can’t help but feel not nurturing Downes was the bigger miss… if he was starting alongside Evans today I’d feel a lot more confident

Lincoln have a technical manager, period.

They are going to be very fluid, with a lot of movement off the ball, a lot of triangles of play, and they will move us around, with Bishop they will break the lines.

They are a better version of what Bolton brought to last Saturday.

As you state the lack of bite in our middle two means we won’t be breaking them up enough.

Could be a tough afternoon. However, Lincoln will be very wary of Burns and Bonne…. And a hoped for good performance from Chaplin.

On another note Dubster / you going to SoundCity??

It's OK.
Carroll will give him a kick in the first minute to test those ankles.

Agreed. Would be nice to have him about still. In terms of what the last 6 games have shown us, it’s clear Chambers is the one we could do with most on the pitch!

Yep, I'll be at Sound City. Incredible line up.

I'll also be doing a radio show dedicated to it, including an interview with one of the organisers, on https://www.cutterschoiceradio.com/ on Monday evening.

Shameless plug over......

its ironic really isnt it, we had him and teams would get into him to stop him playing, now he's gone, we'll let him play.

Well, looking at the however many that left, from the perspective of now, with a team that can create ok but does 1.4 hari-kari defending moments per game, I would say the one person we might want back is the leader of the defence that was pretty frugal all last year. I get that wasn’t the question OP posed, but I don’t think it’s logically unsound either.

Defended fine last year, terribly this year. They say football isn’t a complicated game. Usually the most obvious conclusion is the correct one.

Yeah, I know. All those years with us and we saw him play about 5 times a season. Real miss that. We would be top of the league if he was still on our sick bench.

you'll be even sadder when the inevitable moment arrives in the game when he places the ball in Town's net.

personally believe that Morsy will be a fresh new voice to completely replace the one of LC.

however, was surprised to see both LC and CS go, thought one would remain as an old head.

We miss toto. Not chambers

Toto is a good old fashioned league 1 defender.

Yes indeed - but relish the prospect of seeing Ipswich go to Lincoln as underdogs.

Quite an achievement by both clubs in recent years

We shouldn't be missing any of them, that is the point. We have replaced them with better. Blame the manager. No more excuses.

We do miss toto yes fair. Intangible, but Chambers’s leadership and organising surely must be part of the equation. Would Donacien have been so far inland for Bolton’s 3rd last week with Chambers playing inside him?

I don't think we replaced Toto being honest. We've brought in CB options not a replacement for him imo. Which is kind of backed by PC mentioning him and his return too.

What we do need to find is which Is the best partnership. At the moment Burgess and Wolfenden looked good. I can see it being Toto and Burgess going forwards.
