personally believe that Morsy will be a fresh new voice to completely replace the one of LC.

however, was surprised to see both LC and CS go, thought one would remain as an old head.

I agree both on pitch but also an off pitch/transitional POV. Deep in the realms of speculation here but maybe the group would knit (‘g*l’) quicker with the continuity of an old head here or there

We shouldn't be missing any of them, that is the point. We have replaced them with better. Blame the manager. No more excuses.

Replaced them with better? Or worse. Or much the same

We do miss toto yes fair. Intangible, but Chambers’s leadership and organising surely must be part of the equation. Would Donacien have been so far inland for Bolton’s 3rd last week with Chambers playing inside him?

Problem is. Our backline looked better and stats better because our 6 forwards played safe. Deep and balls being sprayed around the back.

We've yet to get the balance right between attack and defence this season. We've scored as many as the league leaders.. we were nowhere near that level the last couple of seasons.

To answer your question tho. Yes chambers was seen as a leader. But he was also similar to others when it comes to being put of position himself and being targeted in attacks. The only thing I can say is he did control the area more during set pieces than We've managed this season.

Hadn’t clocked that stat on goals scored! Wow. Fuel for the ‘will come good, just need to settle the side and cut out mistakes’ argument. To which I subscribe anyway

I am not sure how to take that, but I will try to be more engaging with you. No offense if any caused.

Seem to recall you relished both of the leaving at the time?

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

All good :)

Just hoping we can all be here tonight enjoying a win. Must admit I'm absolutely dreading it. Imo to have any chance today we have to drop KVY. I appreciate he needs games and lots of them to get back close to what he potentially was going to be. But at the moment he's increasingly going awol. We stick to a more solid not flair back 4 and we stand a chance and it would even give our midfield 2 less of a worry about gaping holes.

This is the thing. We are soo close.. but there's clearly a massive issue at the wrong end.

IF it can be resolved by the current staff.. then we still could have a great season.

It is quite ridiculous to reject a whole squad and replace them. I think it reflects badly on Cook’s managerial skills that he feels that he had to do that. Did he really think that Downes, Dozzell ,Bishop and Edwards etc. were not good enough for League One.? So far there is little evidence, perhaps with the exception of Kyle Edwards, that the new players are superior.

Realistically only Bishop is one of those 4 he had no choice but to lose.

Dozzell contract clause met
Downed wanted out
We offered Edwards new deal

Maybe his Teddy always had its stuffing knocked out of him and bluefish was tired of having to stitch it up continuously.

I will concede Dozzell, but he should have been able to convince Downes of his worth. I doubt the deal they offered Edwards was at all attractive, and no great effort was made to keep him. I am sure Blubfish would have upped it Obviously Chambers and Skuse were well past their shelf life, but I still think it showed poor management to make such a swingeing cull. The early results could, and should, have been predicted. As I said Kyle Edwards look a good acquisition, Burns looks OK, and Coulsen is probably an improvement on what we had. The rest are much of a muchness, and so far the new central defenders have been awful. Similarly the goalkeepers, although it is hardly fair to judge Walton on one match when those in front of him were so poor.

Downes knows he worth hence why he's now playing for Swansea. There was nothing anyone could do with downes.

Only later in the season will we know overall how it has gone obviously.. but with our attacking stats as good as they are, it shows we have solved 1 problem.

We just need to find the balance to it..

Lets see what unfolds today before getting all sentimental. Injuries have certainly taken their toll on TB. I'm sure he'll be wanting to prove a point to PC, but an early solid challenge might also keep him quiet. Looking forward to seeing this side story unravel.
