What do we think is an acceptable points return for the rest of October?

Personally I think Cook has to start getting consistent performances and results now and it has to be an absolute minimum of 10 points. Anything less and I would be saying "thanks for what you have done, but time for a change" if I were the owners.

14, 12 at worse case.

We can't get 14, there's only 5 games.

If we get 11 then that will make it 18 in total since the Bolton Game at 2 points per game - automatic promotion form. If that were to happen it would feel like we're heading in the right direction.

Ten points was my minimum acceptable before the Accrington game, and it remains that way.

Whatever is said if we don't hit there will be some who move the goalposts again to give him more time

Indeed.

12 pts from 15 has to be the minimum now or else you are probably looking for a new manager in November.

Playoff places are already on 19pts. The gap can't afford to get any bigger.

We have to get momentum rather than setting a points total, but of course points should come with momentum.

If go into November climbing the table, have cut the points difference to the play-offs by 4 or 5 points and playing well, I'll be pleased.

Depends on the nature of anything dropped doesn't it? I get what Joe is saying

But.. Hull and the top 3 all lost 11/12/13 games last season. There still still a little room for 'Accrington results' but not many.

I'd suggest there isn't much scope for Cook to have many more Accrington type results, because of what has gone before.

Progress now can only be judged in results. "Playing well" won't cut it

I agree. Although 5 games. 3 wins a draw and a loss. Will probably be seen as OK.

Ideally we want 4 or 5 wins of course.

Although even if we manage 3 wins and a draw from every 5 from now until the end of the season, we won't make the automatics.

Possibly not. But in this group of 5 games I don't see any club action should we won 3 of them.

We have to be looking for 10 points from each group of 5 games. If we get 3 wins in every 5 for the next few months we will be there or thereabouts for the run in.

Less than that makes even a Play Off place very difficult after the disappointing start.

But we shouldn't become a baying mob at every defeat. There will be more defeats between now and May.

12 at a minimum if we're serious about promotion.
